International Best Pairs - 8th June (eurosport)

Recommended Posts

I'm guessing at school Ryan Fisher was always last to be picked and stuffed in goal lol.

No truth in the rumours Ryan Fisher has been taken to hospital, doctors are worried that he hasn't passed anything for two weeks lol.

I am going out to paint my garden shed what a boring meeting

Cool enjoy your painting, i'll stay indoors and continue enjoying the meeting.

Again more good racing and a valuable 7-2 for Denmark.

The UK Eurosport commentator is really on the ball as to the significance of what's at stake in each race and also how it will likely affect the future races.

Patricia Miedzinska is not in the starting girls line up today.Marcelina in yellow is the hottest me think

OMG you got their names...go on name your price for their telephone numbers.

Scott Nicholls is quality tonight-in my opinion

Agreed

Moan moan bloody moan its a good meeting and did someone really say ONLY a 6000 crowd ? Apart from cardiff we could only wish for that in this country.

I'm really enjoying the meeting and it should only get better with the cut throat semi-final and then final ahead. I think the crowd is disappointing in view of the fact they clearly expected a capacity crowd when they set out. Also it was without a doubt decimated over the course of today regards walk up spectators with all the changes in the teams. Social media had lots of people saying they had changed their minds and were no longer going. That choice obviously made easier for them in view of the fact the meeting is televised.

Lovely racing right now, i'll paint my garden shed tomorrow lol.

Not far off the mark there. As I understand it, the BSPA didn't want to field a GB team as it would cost them money to effectively fund a rival promotions agency's event. The BSPA still view British Speedway and especially the Elite League as the most important speedway tournament in the world. Now that there is more money, and more television and more top riders in Poland and Sweden, there is an ever increasing amount of sulking going on. As has been seen, no British rider has been entered into the European Championships, and no quarter given to teams who field foreigners who have been entered into the "Euro's" by their parent federations.

The BSPA are withdrawing into their shells, and the other speedway promotions companies are distancing themselves from the BSPA. Witness BSI's decision to nominate their own wild card, and contract Chris Harris as far back as last November, to the Cardiff GP. If truth be known, none of the British riders who did their damnest were ever in with a sniff of Cardiff. It was such a massive game of smoke and mirrors to give the impression that the British Championships mattered that I'm surprised that it hasn't stirred up more controversy than it did.

The money is in Poland, the television coverage is in Poland, so if the Poles (One Sport etc) decide to run their own show, who can stop them? BSI are completely independent of the BSPA and the Cardiff SGP didn't even get much of a mention or any promotion by the BSPA (their web site, or any other means), so much of a sulk was had about it.

British Speedway and the British Championships is now isolated in World speedway terms. It won't be long before the top British riders will have decisions to make about whether they want to continue as bigish fish in a shrinking pool, or if they want to up-sticks and move their lot onto the continent, like others have in the past.

I'm with the BSPA then! This Pairs event is a nothing event, all that is riding on it is money!

Racing is quitr good now, maybe someone could let the commentary team know. They are as dull as dishwater and are turning a decent meeting into a poor tv spectacle. Get nigel and kelv on board and ditch this guy

What a great little feature on right now and my those ladies are leggy.

Another very good feature on Eurosport in the interval right now.

At least there has been no Danske Liga type delays, the meeting has sped along.

Pity Sayfutdinov got all chopped off to make the final an anti-climax but i reckon it was a meeting worth watching more than missing. So shed painters of the world weep lol ;)
