Guest
It all begins in earnest next Monday when it's home National League action against King's Lynn Young Stars. An early prediction on my part: this is where Kent Kings will take their first - and deservedly so - win of the season.
Dave de Gernier
They are definatly improving every meeting. They deserve to pick up their first win for all their hard work . Just hope the rain stays away!

Mike.Butler
so, will the attendance be affected by lakeside now running on monday? - assume the kent promotion will have expected this scenario at some point during season.
Guest
so, will the attendance be affected by lakeside now running on monday? - assume the kent promotion will have expected this scenario at some point during season. This is on the Lakeside website re Monday, June 3. It seems too far apart to have any effect on Kent Kings v ing's Lynn in my opinion but I suppose one must consider Sky TV viewers in the local area?: "The Vortex Hammers will be back in action four days earlier than expected after last week’s rained off meeting against the Coventry Bees was quickly rearranged for this coming Monday, 3rd June, to feature as the night’s live Sky meeting." Or maybe the local newcomers to Kent Kings have little interest in the sport outside their own side or know much about it elsewhere at the moment so it will not affect them in anyway. Those most likely to think twice will be the long-time speedway supporters who travel from afar. They JUST might be tempted by by a Lakeside-Coventy EL clash. New Cross Ranger
I thoroughly enjoyed my Sittingbourne experience on Monday and will be trying my best to get to Mondays league encounter. I just hope the time constraints put on the event aren't a problem and they manage to finish the match. Fingers crossed for the weather. whippy
can anyone tell me if there is disabled/wheelchair viewing and what the terrain is like for walking please?
Guest
can anyone tell me if there is disabled/wheelchair viewing and what the terrain is like for walking please? I am certain there is wheelchair access for greyhound racing which would mean, if this is confirmed, that similar facilities would exist for speedway? Sadly I have no idea in regard to the terrain at Central Park. Good luck in your quest.

Mr Ore
can anyone tell me if there is disabled/wheelchair viewing and what the terrain is like for walking please? Disabled toilet facilities on the mezzanine level which divides the stand and sufficient space for wheelchairs there at the rear of the lower seating area. This has ramped access from the car park, via the pay area, and is all under cover. I believe there are lifts too from entrance level to the glass fronted facility at the rear of he upper seating. It seems very DDA compliant. Edited May 30, 2013 by Mr Ore
Alan_Jones
Robert Lambert signing for the Young Stars adds some spice to this one.
Heathen1984
He won't be riding against Kent, debut for Robert will be against Buxton as I believe

Mike.Butler
very eventful and enjoyable meet i must say.. track getting better all the time...crowd will continue to fall though unless team can get a win soon..despite a 15 min hold-up after heat 2 match completed by 8.10 p.m. - colder than it looked in main stand! Well done Young Stars, bad luck Kings..Last week Ben had an off night, tonight it was Steves turn, one night they are all going to get it together, the balance of the Team doesnt allow for one of The Heat leaders to have an off night..keep trying lads, it will come. KAM
My first visit to this place. I can't see me being a regular, the 1830 start is too early for me. I had to leave work an hour early and got there for 1815 so any traffic problems and I'm buggered. It was flipping freezing, is it really June? New Cross Ranger
A decent evenings speedway although the 'Young Stars' led the match from heat 2 onwards and you always had the feeling they had a race in hand on the scorecard so to speak. Talking of heat 2 Jack Kingston was catapulted into the fence on the first bend at the start of lap 2 in what proved to be his first and last heat of the evening in what looked a horrible high speed off. Thankfully after lying prostrate on the track perimeter for about 10 minutes and after being tended to by the paramedics he gingerly got to his feet and managed to walk very carefully back to the pits although we were later informed he was taken to hospital. The Kings managed to keep it competitive for almost the entire evening until in heat 13 Steve Boxall during a night of mixed fortune packed up when trying to chase down the excellent on the night Lewis Rose. I thought it was a decent sized crowd as well considering the early start time. With the Kings still finding their feet I think all they need is the confidence of a win and a little better luck and they'll be up and running. The track seemed much better tonight especially around the final bend and that can only bode well for future meets. blueherb777
First let me say well done to the Young Stars.Worrall on the pace straight away,Mallet looked good,Kerr we know is better and as we have seen before (Rose)a reserve on form wins meetings. As others have said Kent are so nearly there it just needs a bit more luck and most riders to click at once.Boxall seems to be suffering bike problems.Woods - on the pace just suffering being in main body.Morley - started slowly ended very well.Coles - showed that he can compete (well done).Compton - same as Boxall.Kirby - In thick of the action as usual(hard night with 7 rides).Kingston - Hope he is OK soon (I know there is a decent rider, just waiting to shine.).Confident first win will be next week against Buxton.Worry last night was that the crowd seemed well down from the IOW (first 6.30 start) fixture.
