comet10
Great to meet up with Paulco and some great quotes, the less said about the meeting the better, Was very impressed with Jacobs tonight got better and better, some of the more experiences riders should be very worried regarding the jobs,
scaramanga
JW and HB must go! JJ, HH and JR are doing their jobs! Â jW is a shadow of himself! He knows that track inside out but looked amateurish! Â Henning can ride it too, seen him in the wet last year looking great! Looked terrible ltonight! looking at grieves i think hes lost interest the only rider tonight that deserves praise is joe jacobs he was the only glasgow rider that triedscreeny was good in the races he won but if he wasnt infront after first 2 bends wasnt that interested

I think he is looking at his future, I dare say the kids are a far higher priority to him! (Rightly so))

(Rightly so)) he past it nowadays, and Screeny is very beatable these days, and these are who your relying on big time to score the bulk of your points.... Dependent on budget, I'd lose jimmy, bager and wright and bring 3 new lads in... Will have big points to play with once the others get averages. Pinny
Riders often tail off as soon as they decidentheir retiring at the end of season... Frank smart was the same for newport in 04 once he announced his retirement at the end of the season he was never the same

We would rather be watching our own 7 riders, it would probably have been a closer match and given more entertainment possibly.  I am looking forward to our lads racing Mickey in 2 weeks time, should be a belter  I love a whinger
Fromafar
That must just about be a record of points scored by guests in one fixture,if you look at Screens away scores they have the pattern since he joined them some great rides and some poor rides depending on Gating . comet49
Comets would probably have got 3 pts without the guests, disappointed with Glasgow though, expected more from Grieves, Bager and Wright. Not nice seeing Wrighty so poor, perhaps he moved up too soon cos he never scored well away in the Elite League. Cookie guested for Plymouth at Leicester tonight and probably changed the result, they got a point.
Taylorj
Bad luck for the tiger tho when you come across two inform guests at reserve when the regular home reserves are at best average Our own reserves would have scored about the same given the Glasgow team we faced tonight, cant see Scunny reserves pulling up many trees either !! Not much you can say about the meeting, felt sorry for the Glasgow fans who had made the journey, Joe Jacobs deserves a mention he seemed the only rider giving his all. The move on Screeny in heat 15 from Richard and Rene was great . Thanks to our 3 guests who I can see are going to cause us problems when riding for their own teams. Whatever has happened to James Wright, oh dear oh dear he is the shadow of the rider who used to ride for Worky absolutely dire, his confidence is obviously shot to bits . 3 more points , well done Comets

Lord Lucan
Very disappointing match tonight, I had hoped Glasgow would prove the doubters wrong but.... never mind, 3pts is 3pts and I'll take that!! Â As has been said before, what has happened to James Wright, appalling run out in the TR ride, never tried an ha,porth just is'nt the same rider round here anymore, looked very tentative at times but then, same could be said for Bager poor show there as well and Grieves, shame about him tho, always went well here sad to see him under perform like that, not the rider I expected to see? As for our own, well, can only beat what's in front of you and some big scores to be had all over the place, very impressed with that Lewis Kerr, jesus that lad can gate, gonna cause us some problems when Newcastle are back in town, same as Micky Dyer, just gets better so, will have to hope that moving up into the team has a negative effect on him when Redcar come calling next up!! Do agree with some comments on here about our own missing riders, and yes, our guests have been extremely useful in relation to them and dont doubt for a minute that our's would have struggled in some meetings to score the points our guests have done it would be churlish not to admit that, but we wont be the only side to benefit from the rules so I'll just keep accepting the scores from good guests and be very happy with it, just like everyone else will be when it happens for them!!
Paulco
On a night where the Workington reserves scored nearly as much as my team put together , it was a painful night being a Glasgow fan watching that . Even allowing for the fact that the Comets were strengthened to almost ridiculous proportions , we were abysmal . Seeing the white and yellow helmets trailing in almost half a lap behind , race after race , made us thank our lucky stars we'd had a good drink in Cockermouth beforehand . We were completely and utterly outclassed tonight . Only Screen and Jacobs can hold their head up tonight . James Wright used to bang in double figure scores round Derwent Park for fun once upon a time , tonight you'd have thought he'd never seen the place before . As for Bager , well ................... The Comets fans who just like to see 5-1's must have enjoyed tonight , but for ordinary speedway fans it was complete torture . Glasgow away from home is as about as entertaining as Eastenders on a depressing night . Dont get me wrong , the new Glasgow promotion are doing a lot of things right , our bus down to Workington today was partially subsidised by the promotion . But the days of Glasgow carrying a decent travelling support around the country must be in danger of ending should this level of mediocrity be allowed to continue . I love my club , with a passion , but nights like this make me wonder why i bother .

Gazc
Well thank christ i wasn't asked to take a friend last night it would put them off for life taking nothing away from Worky you can only beat what is in front off you but that was Diabolical from a Glasgow perspective , Basically we are a piss poor side and getting worse I have seen some pretty poor teams assembled over the years but this must rank as one of the worst .  The new promotion had said last week hopefully the fans can see what we are trying to achieve at Glasgow well we can see perfectly we are trying to finish bottom off the league and with this team they shouldn't have a problem achieving that  Screen & Jacobs apart i was embarrassed last night and if something is not done i fear that rather than bring a friend they will be lucky to have one man and his dog by the end of the season , I would have been better going to Glasgow yesterday and giving the £100 i spent watching that dross to a Dosser at least someone would have got some enjoyment out off it  And on to today oh dear oh dear oh dear i fear that this may be the day that i get totally disillusioned and find something worthwhile to spend my money on instead of throwing it away on watching half hearted efforts apart from one or two  I have attended Glasgow Speedway for more years than i care to remember but i have in all that time never been more despondant or angry with the team Not trying , Four off this side could leave tomorrow and replaced with another four Joe Jacob's we still might get hammered but at least you would get the effort Young Joe gets ten out of ten on effort alone  Not a lot more you can say but bring on the monarchs it may be my last meeting for a while
danny
I found that to be one of the saddest nights of speedway I have witnessed at DP. Not because of the one sided victory or the lack of passing but it was heartbreaking to watch Grieves and especially Wrighty, who rode the track like a novice and was continuously in a fight with the bike, whats happened to the big blasts round the boards, now he seems to be glued to the white line. Felt sorry for the Glasgow supporters, at least they all had a good amount of neck oil to ease the pain.
msc1874
Frustrating night to be a Tigers fan. I say that from the outside. I think that current Tigers side are going to take some thumping in the road this season. Basically away from home, you need your heat leaders to be getting in amongst the points and unfortunately for Glasgow their current crop are not doing this on a consistent basis. Â Joe Screen gets his fair share, not as many as he used to but the guy still has a bit of class about him. Mr Grieves is proving more inconsistent. For my money the best Scottish rider many a year, but now seeming to struggle more and more. James wright you can't put your finger on but it's been the same problem that he's been having for the last few years. Â The whole guest thing, especially with rolling averages is going to create in balances. There are loop holes that can be exploited and in order to win a promoter is of course going to do that. Look at Craig Cook tearing up all tracks in many different colours. The top man in the PL at the minute but an average that doesn't reflect that form. Â I think long term Glasgow need a bit of an overhaul, but it's never easy. The young riders will benefit from getting a season under their belts. Then maybe it's time for surgery at the top. But that's easier said than done. I'm glad to have the tigers as monarchs and tigers need each other. The new Glasgow promotion just need to find the balance. Â Well done to Workington none the less. Even with guests, you still have to win matches and they are doing just that.
