Bash
Quite a surprise to see this meeting take place with all this crap weather about but a big pat on the back to Bob and his team (inc cl driving the tractor) for preparing a very grippy track. Plymouth were absolutely awful and even when they got the gate were passed with ease by the Witches riders willing to go for the wider grip. This as usual did not include Lanham who was pootling around the white line and passing nobody taking the safe lines. The pass of Wells by Cook was sensational in heat 13 and just goes to show that with Woffinden, we have 2 Brits who are capable of taking on the world class riders but thats it. I thought Cameron had his best meeting for the Witches and was unlucky not to be selected for a ride in heat 15, as he had his helmet at the ready but Simmons decided not to use the lad. Another terrible gate as the fans decide to stay away in their droves and this must be a worry to cl and he should realise something is wrong. In my opinion there is a regular fan base out there of 2,000 but they will only come back if cl takes us back into the Elite League. All I hear from most forum users are that it will be too expensive and the elite league is in trouble if sky pulls the plug but its a fact of life that the 1,200 who stay away now will only come back if we re-enter the Elite League. Also Witches have good sponsors and we will never be in a better position than we are now to move back up!!! Pete couldn't use Cam in the heat 15 as it is two from the three top scorers and we had three unbeaten riders on 12 or paid 12. When was the last time there were 2000 fans at Foxhall for a speedway match? Do you personally know the 1200 fans who don't come anymore and know their opinions on the subject. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Who are the other 3 teams left in it? Newcastle Edinburgh and Sheffield
Jackal
do you honestly believe that if Ipo simply went back up to the EL the gate would increase by 1200 on average???? if it was that good, why did you drop down??? The reason louis dropped us down is because we had no team sponsor at the time and was struggling to sign riders good enough to make us competitive! But now with 2 or 3 good team sponsors is the time to move back where we belong. Of course that amount of fans will not return immediately, as many will see how the Witches are doing but given a competitive team who can entertain as well as win nearly all home meetings, they will eventually return without doubt. Ipswich football team is on the decline and those who love sport, Im sure will also give the Witches a look and if the package is good, who knows might become regular Witches fans. Baldyman
Newcastle Edinburgh and Sheffield Well let's hope it's Sheffield then as it's the closest for me to visit, but hasn't been the best of tracks for us recently, but with Ben in the team you never know

When the Sky money is lost, I suspect the Premier lge will be the place to be. You may find some of the Elite clubs wanting to drop down or even have one big British league.. Where have I mentioned a weak team? We always struggle there, it's just that it's the closest so more chance of good support

Also, if you think it's a serious concern to CL why don't you ask him his thoughts on it? Anyway, a serious question for you (Al)Jackal (and anybody else): If Ipswich were in the EL this season, who do you think we'd be most similar to in terms of teams in the 2013 EL? For me I'd say Belle Vue or Eastbourne, not an overly attractive team on paper, built to a budget, probably do ok at home but will struggle away. Likely to be near the bottom come the end of the season. Bare in mind how Ipswich is run as a club (not as a rich mans play thing, run to an affordable budget, making sure riders get paid etc) What riders do you SERIOUSLY think we could expect, don't worry too much about exact averages and if the riders would come to Ipswich - but just as a ballpark idea, do you think we'd be able to build a team with Woffinden as a heatleader for example or would we be looking elsewhere? Do you think Hampel or even Gollob would be tempted back? Who would be our heatleaders within our budget - ignore availability for the sake of arguement. I'm being serious, personally I think we'd have a Schlein type of rider as a No.1, the likes of Heeps and Tungate at reserve, Barker in there somwehere, Mads possibly? Miskowiak? Swiderski? But now with 3 sponsors who are keen to put their money behind the Witches, things could all turn round to some of the good old days, which lets face it were not that long ago, 15 years ago if my memory serves me correctly. Ben could be in our team doing the exactly same thing in the Elite League but partnered by say Andreaj Jonsson, would that not be mouth watering??? Baldyman
Personally I think I prefer the premier league, I find the racing to be much closer and sometimes far more exciting. I would rather pay premier prices though, at the moment I think the prices are a bit to high. I would rather watch someone like Adam learning his trade instead of some not very good foreigner which most elite teams are full of.

As its Adam's first year my meetings have been mostly national/premier standard and to me it's good honest "bang and crash" racing. Everyone putting all they've got into it. My limited experience of elite,( both live and on sky) all seems to be a bit " gate & go". I understand that like Moto GP it is the pinnacle of the sport but unlike Moto GP it's all rules and backstabbing, with everyone poring over an over complicated rule book in what is basically a very simple sport to try and get one over at any cost. As good as our youngsters are they're humbled by the poles etc whenever they compete on the world stage as uk promotors can't see the big picture and then bemoan the fact that there's no good Brits while at the same time pushing them aside to sign another foreigner. Rant over

Bash
Jonny, you're best to just ignore the troll and his constant whinging. The reason his twenty friends have dwindled to eight is probably because they're fed up of his constant drivel like he puts on here.
