neb
Omce the new averages are out I'd say it is time for Henning to go!! Sign Mr Karlsson and we could do something this year!! On a less serious note, there was an EPIC mullet in the Lions pits!! by all accounts mr karlsson will be a free agent in a couple of weeks as he is only on a week to week contract and adam is very close to making a return so you had best be giving him a call before anyone else does. Lioness
Oh yes, I'd like to give one to Beyonce. Now if I did give one to her, that would be an announcement. I think you are getting the words 'announcement' and 'miracle' mixed up! I'm sure they said they signed Henning on a full transfer Did that actually go through? i remember them saying they were looking at getting Henning on a full transfer but dont remember confirmation. I half wondered if that was what they were going to say today! Love the idea of young Joe as a Glasgow assett
heather21
Yeah fair comment he seems to have lost something James no doubt know's himself that he seems to be stagnating to a certain extent no doubt he is more frustrated than us as he does have the talent but does he still have the desire , You only need to see today on two riders on very similar averages Magnus Karlsson and James two totally different body languages on the bike one prepared to go that extra yard for his team and the other one not I'm afraid no guessing which one we had . I feel we are a Magnus Karlsson type rider away from being a useful team as long as the correct change is made if indeed that happens and for me Mr Bager would be the rider to make way this then takes some off the pressure of James Wright to score big points every meeting as we are at the minute Yup, someone like Karlsson would definitely strengthen the team. I just don't understand where it all went wrong for Wrighty. I didn't really follow his progress when he made the jump to the Elite League, I imagine it didn't go as well as he had expected? He's been stuck in this rut ever since and I just don't know how he would change it. I actually thought when we signed him that maybe this move and the support he would get from the tigers fans would be what he needed. Don't get me wrong his scores aren't AWFUL but I did expect a bit more by now. Bager is a bit of an enigma too. Can beat top guys one race and then be coming in last and beaten by weak reserves in the next.

Great Central
As for the match, apart from that sensational first race from big Joe, it was actually back to boring processions, You can't say that - that phrase is wholly reserved for use by certain so called Leicester supporters. cyclone
Be interesting to see the size of the travelling support with a sniff of an away win on the cards! Already been mentioned on Monarchs Chatzone re hiring a coach to Glasgow on 26/5:- "There may be problems getting anything for 26th May at Glasgow, for obvious reasons, as just about every hire bus in Edinburgh is going to Hampden. Therefore speedway supporters will probably have to make their own way." I previously suggested on the BSF that the start time be delayed until 5pm. For those using, the public transport network (buses & trains) between Edinburgh and Glasgow, it would be less congested as would the M8, given that the Scottish Cup Final at Hampden is also a 3pm kick off. It would also make the return journey to Edinburgh, less busy. So do not be surprised if the travelling support is reduced for a 3pm start

So whilst it may not mean you won't get there just expect delays (I'd guess).
CardinalSin
Chris Louis' take on Jacobs' transfer request http://www.lovespeedway24.co.uk/teams/ipswich-witches/louis_disappointed_as_jacobs_hands_in_transfer_request_1_2202871
Paulco
Chris Louis' take on Jacobs' transfer request http://www.lovespeed...quest_1_2202871 I'm at a loss to understand Louis' response . If he wanted to hang on to young Joe , then he only had to hand him a Witches team place this season . The lad has become very popular at Glasgow , he loves riding for the Tigers and sees his immediate future with the club that was willing to give him a chance . I think it's in everyones interest just to get the deal done .

Perhaps Louis just felt that he wasn't quite ready THIS season, loaned him out for experience and keeping his options open for a future team place if he progresses? People loan out young assets all the time it's hardly new.

No point in trying to hold onto a rider that would rather be somewhere else .

He's clearly stated there that he rejected the advances of Glasgow because he didn't want to lose him as an asset, but now the lad has handed in a transfer request he'll now talk with Glasgow again. I don't see the problem. Edited May 20, 2013 by CardinalSin
Lioness
Must admit if the shoe was on the other foot and it was our promoter I would have expected the same statement as Louis made, I think its pretty fair and reasonable in the circumstances

Transfers should only be discussed in public once the ink is dry. To say they had an announcement on Sunday was a tad misleading to those who turned up expecting something. Then to make this public could potentially get right up the nose of Louis and work against us. If I was Louis I'd be saying much stronger things than he has in this interview.

spin king
Having seen young Joe ride at Sheffield last season, I was surprised not to see him riding in the Ipswich line-up. Even more surprised to see the Ipswich pay out a loan fee for a 3 point who on paper was no better than Joe and less proven. Maybe Joe feels more at home and more welcomed by the Glasgow Promotion than he did at Ipswich.

Ellis in his first full season is already a better rider than Jacobs who has been around a few years now.
