The Freestyle Show UK
You say the speedway will be presented differently to what the fans are used to seeing. How will it be presented and what will be different? We've got a few tricks up our sleeve when it come's to the presentation . The only thing that confuses me is that the advert and the website both say the event is at Leicester City. Surely that's not right? They can't possibly be building a track round the pitch for one event....It's got to be at Leicester Speedway hasn't it? This is simply for promotional purposes. Much easier to sell tickets when the event is in 'Leicester City', rather than a place most people outisde of Leicester won't know. But yes, the event is taking place at Leicester Speedway. John Leslie
This is simply for promotional purposes. Much easier to sell tickets when the event is in 'Leicester City' Seems a bit dishonest to sell tickets to people by making them think it's in the plush surroundings of Leicester City when it's really going to be at the less plush Leicester Speedway (although I rate Leicester speedway as a very good new facility). I think all Speedway people will work out that it can't possibly be at Leicester City and therefore must be at Leicester Speedway, but non-speedway people could be easily duped.

The Freestyle Show UK
If you click Venue on the home page it says the name of the venue, in Beaumont Leys. It also states the address/postcode. We are not attempting to dupe people into buying tickets. Overall the event is in Leicester. It makes it more search engine friendly, easier to list on event websites, easier to find via Eventbrite and Ticketmaster and also more appealing to people based in other locations around the East Midlands. We will take off 'City' to avoid confusion like you say. But, there was more to it than meets the eye. Hope this clears things up. Long Eye
Seems a bit dishonest to sell tickets to people by making them think it's in the plush surroundings of Leicester City when it's really going to be at the less plush Leicester Speedway (although I rate Leicester speedway as a very good new facility). I think all Speedway people will work out that it can't possibly be at Leicester City and therefore must be at Leicester Speedway, but non-speedway people could be easily duped. I'm not too familiar with the area, but i believe the speedway stadium is in the City of Leicester so I suppose the description of Leicester City is quite accurate.
gavinpjones
I agree with Long Eye (post above). I don't think that the wording is wrong in the advert. The event is being held in Leicester. To be fair it does seem the event is being run by the book and is going down the right lines to make it happen. At the end of the day, this sort of thing can only be good for speedway as many a time throughout the forums, people are complaining about crowd sizes, and that there isn't enough exposure for the sport as there could be. This sort of event seems to be a fresh way of looking at the sport, not only for speedway fans but also for other people to find out what a brilliant sport speedway is that may never attend a meeting otherwise. manchesterpaul
The Speedway feature of the show is being run by the Leicester promotion, and we have worked with them to integrate Speedway into our show. Therefore under correct governing, licensing and insurance. Unlike the 'series' that I think you may be referring to. Please see September Fixtures on the official speedwaygb site for confirmation of this. Geeeee ignore the nitpickers. I'm sure that the speedway section will be beneficial promotional wise for both yourselves and speedway. Pretty much most threads on the forum are advertising speedway meetings God bless the BSF!
