DonT teLL Ipswich that you are using a guest on Thursday. they don't like guests. ONLY WHEN ITS THE WATCHES THAT ARE USING THEM.

As the Berwick programme said last week -- to interact with the Workington natives, a banjo might help.

THE SHEFFIELD WINDOW CENTRE TIGERS welcome back Richard Hall on Thursday as they attempt to climb a 14-point mountain in the Premier League Knockout Cup.

Hall returns after three weeks on the sidelines with a dislocated shoulder and gives the Tigers a boost, as they have lost every fixture he has missed in that period.

Rye House won the first leg of the tie 52-38 and will go in to the second leg as firm favourites, but team manager David Hoggart is hoping Hall’s return can spark a comeback.

“We’ve really missed Richard, the rider replacement facility just doesn’t work for us so having him back in the side will make a big difference. He was absolutely flying before the injury so if he can pick up from where he left off we’ll be a much better outfit.

“We know how difficult our task is on Thursday, hopefully Richard’s return can help us overcome the deficit from the first leg.”

One piece of bad news for the Tigers, though, is that they will still be without a full side as captain Simon Stead expects to be on the sidelines for a fortnight with a broken bone in his left hand.

Craig Cook deputises for Stead in the KO Cup while Olly Allen, who is looking to take Sheffield down on Thursday, takes his good friend’s place at Somerset the following evening.

Of Cook, Hoggart believes Sheffield have an excellent replacement; “Craig is in sensational form and on Monday he was very close to getting on the podium at the British Final, he was really keen to help us out and I couldn’t think of a better man to replace our own excellent number one.”

Sheffield; Craig Cook (G), Facundo Albin, Joe Haines, Richard Hall, Ricky Wells, Damien Koppe, Jake Knight.

Rye House; Olly Allen, Rider Replacement for Jason Bunyan, Anders Mellgren, Jason Garrity, Tyson Nelson, Kasper Lykke, Guest TBC.

I completely agree about getting behind the reserves and while ever they are in a Tigers race jacket I will do so. However

Picking the odd point up between the 2 riders is no good and before long we will be out of the running in all competitions. I like to see young riders given a go but I feel for Jake because really he should have a reliable reserve to take the pressure off him but this hasn't been the case. Damien is a big worry and in my opinion needs replacing as soon as the averages allow. He has consistantly looked slow and at Rye he was half a lap behind. When he makes the gate he seems to panic and has been involved in 2 nasty accidents which he was the cause of.

He is the only replacement I would make and it looks like we could replace him with a rider between 7 and 8 average.

I'm certain bringing in a capable rider of this average will make a huge difference to the team and 1 would expect the promotion to be looking at alternatives now rather than later.

47 43 tonight

I agree with what you say, I have also been critical of the reserves but while ever they are riding for the Tigers we should support them. I hope if changes are made the management do it as soon as they can and don't mess about. I do think it is obvious that the team needs changes.

Just arrived at the track. Rain is falling steadily, but not heavy. Bits of blue sky, but some dark clouds that look like they are about to dump a load on us. Hopefully they'll pass over and dump on someone else.

*edit @ 18:45* Been told it absolutely chucked it down just north of us. Looks pretty dismal in that direction, but a little brighter to the south. Rain has all but stopped here.

*edit @ 19:05

No rain for almost half an hour. Still dark clouds to the north over Hillsborough, but brighter to the south.

Well Sheffield were opened up like a tin of beans tonight. this is getting woeful and paying this amount + drinks every week is becoming more of a strain than a treat. Are the promotion seeing something different than us fans? We NEED to make changes this just inst good enough.

I respect the boys so much but we are getting our butts handed to us far too often, bring back the days when owlerton was a fortress. We even have oppostion members commenting how woeful our team is.

Retain Stead, Wells, Hall, Albin, Knight. Release: Haines, Koppe,

Firstly well done Rye House very entertaining team put together there and had Garrity not got injured we would have been battered yet again.

Onto Sheffield I will keep this brief - Pathetic. Cook did his job, Hall was ok but could tell he was struggling a little, the rest below expectation.

Over to you Msrs Machin and Hoggart??

Won't hold my breath but I can predict 1 thing if this continues and that is Sheffield will not be running next season. Crowd has already dwindled and will get worse.
