Yea we never saw any of that last night  thou I like Wolves as a track it' a joke to have it at the same place every year and just unfair to be honest .

Guess the BLRC was a joke all those years it was at Belle Vue..

The British Final was a joke all those years it was at Coventry...

Well in terms of fairness it was ...nothing wrong with the Wolves track on having it there but it needs to be moved about ...when Rico was alive for example he was never going to have a chance while the final was at Wolves . Saying that it maybe that Wolves are the only track who wants it

Why don't the BSPA ballot all British riders which track they think is best for racing, entertainment apart from there home track and then decide on the track for the British Final.

Most riders like Kings Lynn, Somerset and Scunthorpe are great racetracks

I take it those tracks are clamouring to stage the meeting, then? In any event, a rider's view of an entertaining track is surely one on which he goes well.

If there are other tracks wanting to hold this event then I think there is some merit in moving it for next year. I like Wolves a lot as a racetrack but Tai will probably dominate the British Final for several years now and to hold it away from the circuit where he is king would be sensible for the sake of the meeting itself. He was head and shoulders above the rest last night and if that is going to be the case every year then its going to make things very dull.

And what a spectacle that would be.

The men being half a lap infront of the boys.Thats sure to bring in the crowds.

Good point...

I was however referring to the awesome racing we see at Kings Lynn in the WC, but that is the WC and not a meeting which contains riders from all 3 leagues in the UK.

Point accepted. Host it at Somerset.

This meeting would be fantastic at a track like Berwick or Kings Lynn I think. Nice and fast. That'll sort the men from the boys.

no it wouldn't it would be the same result except the racing would be more spread out and the better riders would be miles clear! Can some people not understand big tracks doesn't always meen better racing!

Really good performance by Cook last night but would disagree that he has the speedway world at his feet. At 25 (26 next week) he is still some way behind riders of a similar age on the continent and even our own Tai Woffinden who is 3 years younger.

Not trying to take anything away from the progress he has made in a short space of time but I hadn’t realised he was as old as that if I am honest.

Ron

John Louis was 29 when he first started racing with Ipswich in 1970. Look what he went on to achieve in a late start to his career.

it is the strength of the line up individual or team that determines the racing not track size.

I understand were you are coming from, but to be honest, he'd dominate anywhere at the moment. I'd actually say that Wolverhampton is the track where Nicholls/Harris had their best chance of beating him!

Non gaters at Wolves have absolute zilch chance of winning, don't get me wrong it is a ok track. But

Peterborough,Somerset,Scunthorpe,King,s Lynn,Sheffield, Swindon are all better racetracks no doubt about it plus sharing it around would be better because to be honest the meeting has gone stale at that venue.

I think Dave Minall,s point is spot on to be honest.

Well done to Tai Woffinden on becoming British Champ, right now he is head and shoulders above anyone else and thoroughly deserved his win.No point in crying about where the Final is held,it has to be held somewhere and Wolverhampton is as good as anywhere,Harris,Nicholls and co have done enough laps around Monmore Green to know the set ups needed and how to ride the place,at the end of the day they werent good enough.

Well done to Tia,Cook and Garrity were impressive ,the more I see of Auty the more that I am convinced he is not going to improve much more exciting to watch but still not in control of his riding IMO and he has been about for a few years now.

I actually believe Auty has improved still a bit rash that's because his gating is so poor. What i have seen of him he actually is one of the few riders in Britain who can regularly come from the back.Even in the updates how many times does he pass.? quite a lot i am saying that because we do see a lot of gate and go racing now.

Harris really is a bitter plonker, couldn't resist a dig at the fact it was on Tai's home track. Shame Cook didn't end up on the podium and I still don't get the hype over Worrall.

I would take Woffinden to beat Harris on virtually any track anywhere in the World right now,Woffinden is riding better than ever and on the way up,Harris on the other hand still clings onto former glories and will never get any better.

Dear me Sidney, you surpass yourself with that comment! It must have escaped you that Woffinden got a max and certainly didn't make the gate every time.. nor Nicholls in some of his race wins.

As for the meeting has gone stale... why was the crowd up this year compared to previous? Even though we had all this hype over how the removal of the GP wildcard would impact upon the meeting...

As others have pointed out, if tracks want to hold a meeting they have to apply for it.. not many want these shared meetings.

Personally I have no problems with meetings being staged at the same track, it creates a sense of tradition and continuity to events. As mentioned earlier in the thread it did the BLRC no harm being staged at Belle Vue every year, nor the British Final at Coventry. Even the old World Final being held at Wembley. The Fours at Peterboro etc. Chopping and changing the venue every year can have the opposite effect.

It is a technical track and there is a home advantage, most passes generally are on the inside. All i said it is a hard track for non gaters to race on if Wolves are the only track to want the event so be it but i have my doubts on that if so it should be shared around.

of course non gaters can win what a daft comment! Woffy Nicholls and Kennett all passed people! If they did that at Lynn everyone would be raving! How good would it be to watch Tai thrash people at Lynn! There is more skill passing someone at wolves then just blasting round the boards at Lynn! Edited by Gavan

Bwitcher, you make a good point about Bomber and Nicholls. I'd still like to see it moved around a bit if other tracks want it. Thats all from me here guys as I'm not interested in another big track v small track feud :)
