Coventry_Bee
I thought Scott's interview was very honest and hit the nail on the head about British speedway. Fans will have there own views on Nicholls but it is clear that he is frustrated and can see what needs to be done for the benefit of British speedway and its future. It would be a huge loss to the sport if when Scott calls it a day that he and riders like Loram and Harris can't be called upon to support the next generation. The BSPA yet again seem on another planet and there is nothing really in place involving ex riders to give the kids a helping hand. In an ideal world at coventry it would be nice to see a few of the bees riders just watch the 2nd half's at coventry and just a few tips and encouragment would really mean a lot to the younger riders.
Backless
I've said for years that GB should take part in the likes of the European Championship, Pairs, whatever. First reason: These competitions keep robbing teams of riders anyway, so if the Brits were involved & if there was to be the odd round over here, it all becomes more tolerable. The BSPA seems to think that Britain is somehow "above such secondary competitions". Second reason: GB these days is pretty much a secondary speedway country. Get over it. Instead of hoping for third place in the SWC and expecting to be 4th - if we're in it, it would be better to enter these competitions & maybe WIN SOMETHING.
A ORLOV
Even test matches returning would help, for the younger riders, Under 21, Under 25. Edited May 11, 2013 by A ORLOV

Sir Jasper
Could it be that BSI are not happy with the competition and have threfore applied pressure to the BSPA to stop our riders from competing? Personally, I think it would be good if our riders did get to ride in such competitions, it gets them to ride in Europe, on tracks they are nbot used to. They get to learn about what it takes to win and to compete well in such meetings which in turn helps Team GB, strengthens our league etc.
Hackett
It makes no sense to prevent riders earning a living from the European Championship or Pairs meeting unless the BSPA is in cahoots with BSI / IMG. Simple negotiation with British riders for this season would of been as long as it doesn't coincide with your Elite League fixtures you can ride. Speedway on tv can only be good for the sport and the for riders in terms of sponsorship. The article in the speedway star from Nicholls seems as though there is a lot of bad feeling bubbling between the riders and the BSPA. Perhaps the likes of Kennett, Harris, Stead etc should of done the same as Nicholls and withheld there services too.
