Gp Qualifying Semi-final Wednesday 7th August Holsted

Recommended Posts

Must admit I hadn't heard much about Vaclav Milik, according to Wiki he's just 20 years old. Beat the likes of Andersen & Zagar tonight, I'm guessing he'll be on the radar of one or two British clubs after tonight, if he wasn't already. Look forward to seeing how he gets on at Poole.

Regarding the runoff between Hans and MJJ: The third place might be relevant in such a case, that the riders going through to the next round might be slotted according to the results. I'm not sure if this is the case, but it was "public knowledge" on June 8th that Timo Lahti rides in the Esbjerg semi. How was this known, unless he took his place there by his finishing position in Abensberg??? There certainly could not have been a draw already, since the qualifiers from St Johann weren't known till the next day. As for Hans/MJJ, they are the sort of riders that make things happen, they dont care. The difference in prize money was actually 75 euros. Nothing like Emil hitting the tapes in Prague and losing his chance for 5000+ euros extra.

Looks as if it could now be held at a different track-at least they have plenty of time before the final

Going to find it difficult to find a date. Most weekends are taken up with polish league (who will have something to say) u21s. World Cup. GPs. Etc

From www.speedwaygp.com:

SGP racers Krzysztof Kasprzak and Niels-Kristian Iversen must wait even longer for their shot at GP Challenge places after their qualifying semi in Esbjerg was rained off again on Sunday.

It has been confirmed the Danish champions will not restage the meeting and a new date and venue is yet to be confirmed.

With the GP Challenge at Poole on August 24, there is still plenty of time to squeeze the fixture into the calendar. But with SGP, Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup and FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship meetings occupying many Saturday slots, it could have to be scheduled on a weekday.

Heavy rain forced the meeting to be delayed on Saturday and it did not relent overnight, leaving the circuit unfit for action.

Saw the forecast and decided against travelling up.Once bitten, twice shy.As i made the trip up last year for the called off fiasco for the Danish Championship semi-final that eventually had to be moved to another track.Pity though that it buggered up Brokstedts team for yesterdays Bundesliga meeting.Kevin,Tobi and Timo were all up in Esbjerg kicking their heels whereas we had in the end a pretty good meeting, even though we knew from the off that Brokstedt had no chance.Friend of mine did go up on saturday and is a bit miffed that he is only being offered entry to a league meeting as compensation
