The White Knight
Some of the Riders listed here are hardly 'underrated' as in the Thread Title. Â ............................. or is it just any Ipswich Rider?

mickthemuppet
are we actually saying here. Is it the best peformances for a rider in Ipswich colours or the best Ipswich rider that rode for other teams as well. Surely the best two Ipswich riders were John Louis and Billy Sanders. Whose who rode for other clubs-take your pick---many world champions among them.
norbold
Rickardsson won the World Championship whilst an Ipswich rider.
Guest
Nice names..many of whom were dragged along by the example of John Louis, the force of John Berry..and the amazing support. But having watched the fabulous sides of JB..the awful crap from Chris Shears...my choices would be Mike Lanham (who worked full time)....Bert Edwards...Ted Howgego..Mick Hines...Tim Hunt..Preben Ericksen... Â The real triers were those who really had no natural talent...but excelled when most needed. Â Many names..Jolly..Doncaster..Knight..Castagna..etc..were not underated..they had status...Oh how I miss those days..over 30 years ago when Foxhall was a cauldron every Thursday....when Uncle Lenny..Martin Rogers..Cyril Crane..Reg Fearman..etc came visiting..but did it get tough when we went to their tracks !! Wonderful to see the name of Bert Edwards mentioned. He was a wonderful guy and loved speedway, as did his brother Harry (never an Ipswich rider). Split
I mentioned Peter Moore before the subject of best ever Ipswich rider came up but I can't believe that nobody else has mentioned that name since.
