Berwick V Leicester (pl) Saturday 11th (with Added Eddie)

Recommended Posts

I think what was clear last night was that the impact a genuine number 1 can have on a team. Although his points contribution may not have been huge it was his ability to create time and space for his team mates was very evident. Twice shutting the door on opponents when they were about to make a run and shielding his more inexperienced team mate from opposing pressure.

If Eddie hangs around which according to his post match interview he is happy to do I think we are now going to have some quality racing to watch. With Eddie it won't all be about gate and go as he has the time to look around and change each heat in our favour not that he is not capable of demolishing opposing riders if that is what is required. All in all one meeting in things look much more positive. Let not forget Paul Starke either good debut once dialled in can only get better. Track also looking better and passing makes a comeback at Berwick.😉

It was a good meeting last night all the riders doing their bit and scoring, It will be interesting to see how things go with a full team, surely it can only be better.

It was good to see some real team riding on track with Kennet seeing Barret home and not leaving him to fend for himself.

Remember one swallow dont make a summer but on last night showing the nights are getting longer.

I must say best meeting i have seen at Berwick for a long time i think all the boys must have been on Berrocca, to a man they done themselves proud .Eddie what you expect,Kozza to excited once,Robin doing what we know he can Matty thinking he was riding for Edinburgh,Nicki showing why we kept him,Paul great ride to snuff out the tactical was very sporting of his opponent to acknowledge him at the end of the race. Was funny looking at updates it said a good ride from Neilsen to keep Kozza behind [which it was] but no mention of Pauls great ride ???? Hope we are all saying the same things after the Sky meeting

At the halfway stage Leicester were well in the meeting and probably looking at a point or two,Nieminen and Doolan were unbeaten, and they had Karlsson was chipping in with points.Sadly for them, they were blowing away in the second half by a Berwick team who provided all but one of the heat winners in the second half, the only bright spot being an awarded race win in Ht15 after Wethers had taken a fall while trying to overtake Nieminen. It would be fair to say Leicester missed Bjerre as his rides could only muster 5pts while Berwicks r/r brought home an impressive 9.

This was Berwicks best performance of the season by far, with all the riders chipping in with points, and all of them getting at least one race win.Great to see Aspegren back on the kind of form we know he is capable of,and if thats after a kick up the rear end from the promotion then well done them.Kennett after not the best of starts its fair to say looked the rider we thought e is,very classy, but I think the rider that surprised us all was Paul Starke,a steady first couple of rides before a crucial Ht11 win over the tactical riding Nieminen, all this after Smith a made a mess of the tapes.

This has to be the start for me,much better racing, much better performance, but still work to do if we are climb up the PL table. The only down side is that there wasnt more there to see it,but hopefully once the word gets round that Berwick are winning and the racings better then the missing fans will return.

Zzzzzzzzz

Same auld pish.

Im so offended,I hope Chek of the yard will be along presently. :D

Looking at June's fixtures, there are some very winnable meetings both home and away. In theory we could be in a very healthy position by the end of June. Maybe the weather put people off pre-meeting but crowds will need to pick as we wont be averaging below 45 points at home again this season. There isn't much more the promotion can do, the team is now a very attractive team to watch and should at least get the deserving regular fans buzzing again. But its all about how many folk come through the gates. It would be intresting to see what would happen when Ricky is fit, because Kennet will do Berwick a good job, would we make changes elsewhere? drop a 10 point man for a 8 point rider? Teams wont look forward to Berwick coming to there track anymore......

Nice to see the feel good factor return to Berwick. Someone posted a photo of the first bend pre meeting on Facebook and I hardly recognised the track. Reminded me of the surface when I first visited in 2005... If something similar is served up for the Sky meeting, then you're gonna have praise heaped on you by all, especially with the likes of Robbo, Henry, Lindgren and the Worrals, who I would expect would relish the track conditions.. It's building up to be a great night... Looking forward to it already

Looking at the fixtures we dont race again at home on a saturday till June 11th and our only home meeting is Newcastle a week on tuesday, though I understand they are looking at bringing forward one of the later meetings. As things stand at the minute,by June 11th,Ashworth will be fit again hopefully and the promotion will have a decision to make.

It was a good meeting, one of the best anywhere? I will argue this case until I am 6ft under, usual supects suffering from High testosterone after a couple off good races at the Bydgoszcz of British Speedway.

get over yourself man, jesus christ, lighten up!

really enjoyable meeting . cant see anyone that was there not wanting to come back. there was a buzz about the whole place even in bar after meeting. never heard one negative comment. as to crowd in reality it was probably up on recent weeks especially considering that there was a lack of away support. spoke to a fair number of fans who havent been this year and they all left stadium very happy and looking forward to next meeting.
