Humphrey Appleby
BUT June 9th was the only date PARKEN was available after BSI were forced to push back the British GP because of the Olympics. Parken is booked 51 weeks of the year?
Grand Central
Parken is booked 51 weeks of the year? Have you suffered some form of head trauma? Parken 2012 did NOT coincide with Denmark's final Euro 2012 fixture. June 9 was announced as the date for the GP in October 2011 and the draw for Euro 2012 was made two months LATER that gave the Danes their FIRST Euro match that same night. I do not know what the alternatives to June 9 were available, but Phil Rising seems quite certain that there were none for Speedway. I do know that the scheduling to create the clash of dates of which you speak DID NOT HAPPEN. Edited May 13, 2013 by Grand Central
Humphrey Appleby
Phil Rising seems quite certain that there were none for Speedway. Normally he claims not to be party to the arrangements that BSI make. I do know that the scheduling to create the clash of dates of which you speak DID NOT HAPPEN. Where did I claim the clashing scheduling was deliberate? However, if it were me (and I do actually have some experience in organising events) then I'd have looked for other major events and tried to avoid them. Okay, it's not always possible, but I don't think I'd risk running an expensive prestige venue against the European Championship even if the fixtures weren't completely known at the time. Equally though, maybe they got Parken cheap that week precisely because no-one else wanted to do that (whether Denmark were involved or not). Anyway, that was last year. What does that have to do with threatening to move to Vojens next year?
Grand Central
Where did I claim the clashing scheduling was deliberate? You didn't. That was not my point. You could re-read my posts in full to understand the point I was making. Or not. But I give up.
severnsider
Parken is booked 51 weeks of the year? As I understand it Parken is used by FC Copenhagen so really the mid summer is the only available time. With the restricted date for Cardiff last year and then the SWC it would have left very few options
Woz01
Yes Parken stadium is home to FC Copenhagen so there wasnt many options for BSI. Very unlucky that Denmark was drawn to play on the same day as the GP and im sure the attendance will be bigger this year.
