Swedish Elite League Rnd 1 Tuesday 7th May

Recommended Posts

How is this fair... The 2nd side is miles better.

Polish Speedway and Swedish Speedway are not competitive like the Elite League.

One of our experts posted that Vastervik were on a hiding to nothing tonight

Yes - might be best if people refrain from posting spoilers as the meeting is not broadcast until 9.30pm

I'll concentrate on Britt Eklund by my side

Alan

If somebody's going to watch it later, Why would they come to this thread, Don't you think they would avoid spoilers?

I sent you a link and told you to be good. Listen!!!!!!!

Britt Eklund pressed the key twice, not me guv. :approve:

Reversal today. Superb, consistent stream, and the forum has been very slow loading. Perhaps it's just at this end. One to go, so take care all and join you for Denmark tomorrow. Alan. :t:

Thanks for the links guys but could not get them until near the end as this place was on strike.

In the end Sopcast came good. Could not get Coolsport to work.

Well I managed to avoid finding the score between the russians and poland for a week but it's a simple courtesy on a thread like this not to do that when you know people would be watching the match a couple of hours later as they might come to the thread to chat and see some idiot had posted the score.

It's what sensible people would do.

But then you are not actually sensible. :)

First of all hopefully the delayed broadcast won't be a regular occurrence.

I got to admit i made a point of staying away from this thread on the grounds that i wouldn't expect others who can watch the meeting live to not have the pleasure of discussing events live. Obviously i would expect the score and unfolding events to be talked about as they happen. Absolutely no offence intended Pandorum but i don't see why people would come to this specific thread if they didn't want to know the score of a live match. A lot of my sports clash and i occasionally have to record one of them and take it as a fact of life i've got to avoid going to where i'll see the score/result. No worries though you'll never get the score in advance from me as i won't be coming to the thread when there is delayed coverage.

Aside from those who have to utilize streams because they don't/can't have Sky, obviously in this section we do have many international fans watching in Sweden and wherever else the Elitserien may be shown on tv, so they don't rely on Premier Sports for their coverage. It would be a bit like a fan from a country where the SGP is only broadcast days or a week later asking us not to discuss it until they've had a chance to watch it.

On to the meeting, i'm not sure why so many people had Indianerna as nailed on favourites for this match. Whilst i didn't by any means expect such a large victory i don't see it as a massive upset. Vastervik technically had two top riders in Hans Andersen (yeah i know he fluffed it) and Chris Harris, and they also ended up with a third in Tomasz Jedrzejak, but they clearly pre-meeting had a good advantage in the reserve positions. Troy Batchelor and Ludvig Lindgren must have been expected to outscore Damian Balinski and Mathias Thornblom surely?

What's up with Antonio Lindback he seems to have had a few stinkers recently in league racing. He started great in the GP on Saturday with two wins only to fade badly and not qualify for the semi-finals. He had another poor meeting here too.

Glad to see a broadcaster do something i've mentioned before, and beat Sky to it in the process, that is display a riders individual heat scoring along a single line instead of a bare total. The Swedish graphics have been stepped up a considerable notch or two, quite impressive. Sky's Elite League table is quite odd with the limited chosen columns they show, especially as it would appear they could fit more in?

Sad to hear of Hammarby's thrashing at home to Dackarna (38-52), i know i said preseason that they looked weak but wow! that was a shocker indeed.

The forum has been very slow at times over here too. It's not my broadband connection either, that's merrily chugging/speeding away at 76Meg. Also, the forum is occasionally showing as "not just you" at the 'downforeveryoneorjustme' site which always comes in handy to check if it's the site or your connection/computer. http://www.downforev...neorjustme.com/

Great to hear that you had such a quality stream. You'll appreciate it even more when you come over and watch speedway in the raw, chilly, wet British summer. But don't worry you can have plenty of :drink: to numb the cold. We don't want you going back to the sunny US of A with a chill.

Non taken in the slightest mate and as both you and Jepsen Jensen said there isn't but just in case they do I would have thought it a courtesy not to mention stuff that might have spoiled their viewing to be.

I avoided lots of stuff here re the Russian match and managed to keep the score secret until I saw it a week later.

But due to the circumstances just in case anyone was here last night who had not seen it had no intention of mentioning any of the excitement of last night's meeting. But as Jepsen Jensen said there wasn't any.

I just consider it a simple courtesy but then I am an old man and just think that way :)

And I meant no offence to Jepsen Jensen either who, unlike many on the EL section, I enjoy reading his posts both the mad ones and the sensible ones.
