Ipswich Vs Leicester Bank Holiday Monday May 6th 2.30pm

Branford may have felt hard done by but made no attempt to get off the track at all, maybe his refusal to budge had some bearing on the refs decision.

Also shouting in the pits afterwards that if he was going to get excluded for that next time he'll just "ride straight through the c**t" may not be the cleverest thing to do as they are both young riders who may be riding together for Great Britain in years to come

All in all a good day and congratulations must go to the Ipswich track staff for preparing a very good racing surface that had riders passing all over the place.

Branford in the GB side! That really would be scraping the barrel.

Don't worry too much about that...........the boy Branford is not going to be that good.

Good meeting especially for an afternoon one until the dust spoiled it, goodness knows why it was not watered later on? And shock to see CL getting to work watering the track pre-meeting :o , shame he didn't do it after heat 12. Perhaps after all Risager will rival Ben for the no1 spot after fulfilling at last after over 2 years what he was signed to do in the first place! Adam certainly looks a future British champ after once again looking very impressive and some of Bens riding needed to be seen to be believed as he goes from last to first. Looked extremely dodgy after heat 8 losing by 2 points but a pat on the back to the riders for finishing so strongly and keeping the mouthy Leicester fans quiet

Spoiled by dust ????

I think we were at different meetings, I didn't see any dust.

Just the last couple of heats.

The breeze takes any dust away from the pits towards bend 2 and the back straight.

Had the full sun been out earlier it may have caused more of an issue.

In heat 15 from bend 2 it was hard to see then entering bend 3.

A small price to pay for such a good performance Id say.

I do know that the interval took much longer than expected, but no idea why the crop sprayer didn't come out. There's an option on the Witches website to ask questions, so you could always try that - you don't have to use your real name :).

Shouldn't be a shock to see CL workiing on the track. Bob would have been there early doors, and the old boy needs a break :)

The crop sprayer did come out in the interval, but the track must have dried quickly. It was only the last couple of heats that had dust was evident, but on a warm afternoon meeting you would expect some dust. Good second half performance from the witches.

Ah well, there you go - just proves how observant I am! I did spend a very pleasant few minutes chatting with Emma from KL, who I had previously only "spoken" to as part of the Live Updates team and on Twitter. No doubt the aljackal was deep in conversation with his many friends :t: .

As a footnote on Mortens performance , he is a confidence rider as has been said before .

While browsing the updates site I noticed he has had a couple of good performances in Denmark on the 1st and 3rd may including outscoring the phenomenal superstar MJJ in one ( huh hmm )

Did well in Denmark and came back and looked like a different rider on Monday .

Perhaps he should try this more often !

Well if you never see any dust during the final 2 - 3 heats, its you my friend who was at another meeting!!!

Yes agree he is a confidence rider but that can change with Risager from race to race and will always it seem stay with him all his career. He was signed as a potential no1 by cl he said but thats never going to happen lets face it and cls ridiculous "he will challenge Ben for no1 spot this season" comment do not help, as that puts more pressure on him that he does not need.

It only managed to complete one lap due to a problem.

It looked like the plug came out and the water gushed out soaking a patch at the apex of 3 and 4.

By time it was fixed only one lap possible.

Had a great view of Ben's overtaking from the new stand though the amount of people tripping up the gangway was unreal. Goodness knows what it would be like if it was a bit wet or if someone had a jar or three.

Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen then
