SCB you've admitted yourself Risager is a confidence rider, is it so out of the ordinary that a promoter bigs up a confidence rider in the press? Pretty smart if you ask me. dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
For an afternoon meeting that was pretty good. Â A couple of excellent heats including Bens win from last to first from nowhere which Im sure will be in this years superheats. Â Shame that Morten just missed out on a max eh Jackal!! Â Looked touch and go at half way so it really was a great effort to win by as many.
adz_mft
1st visit to Ipswich for a couple of years.Pretty decent meeting tbh. Impressed with Risager today.Certainly seemed on it. Ellis has so much potential. To think this is only his 2nd year racing and he's performing like that in the PL.Incredible really. Barker's ride where he came from last to 1st really was impressive.Worth the entrance fee alone. Will certainly be coming back at some point through the season.

If he keeps it up he'll be challenging for the No.1 race jacket at Brandon!
Baldyman
I must admit I'm certainly not a great fan of morten, more his riding really, but today he was the difference in taking all 3 points. Heat 10 was awesome with Barker going from last to first, but let's not forget Ritchie turning a 5 1 against into a 4 2 to us.
LagutaRacingFan
Barker went from last to first but the Lions riders shouldn't have let that happen, They needed to be more ruthless. Â For example, Dakota North or Nicki Pedersen would never have allowed that and that was the turning point in the meeting as Leicester were on a 5-1 and it was a huge mental blow for a 5-1 to turn into a 4-2 reversal. Ipswich Jules
He could get the pants industrially cleaned instead of buying a new pair  I'm not sure even industrial cleaning would rescue them, they need burning and replacing I reckon - was certainly a scary moment for him! Baldyman
I think Barker could probably do with a new pair too after just missing him, or that's how it looked from where I sit anyway.
Roger Jacobs
Remarkable ride by Barker and Hawkins in Heat 10 - I think Hawkins deserves just as much credit for being in the thick of the action, and taking advantage of the gaps. I still can't work out how they got past Doolan. Barker didn't look like he could catch Bjerre, and his pass just put the icing on a superb four laps. Â You can argue that Leicester were weakened by the loss of Nieminen, simply because R/R reduces the options for Heat 15. Amazingly, the Lions scored 9 from the programmed rides, so overall they didn't really miss him - and the match points were lost before Heat 15. Â Apart from Bjerre, there wasn't much else for the travelling fans to get excited about. Karlsson looked sharp in his first ride, and certainly smoother on track than most of the other riders - but after the "missed heartbeat" events of Hawkins chicane along the home straight in Heat 6, the veteran Swede looked out of it. Doolan also started well, and also tailed off alarmingly - he has tweeted that he thinks he may have a virus. Maybe it's the same one that saw him get 7 from 5 for the Witches on too many occaisions. No hard feelings for Doolan, who we all know is a jolly decent chap, but as Louis said at the pre-season event, Doolan was brought to Ipswich to be a #1 and he never really delivered. Â I can understand why Branford felt hard done by in Heat 2, but there was no contact at all. Ellis simply locked-up, and Branford did the same behind him - but fell. The Ref obviously saw it as a racing incident (assuming he saw it). I couldn't see when the red lights came on, but it was a hairy moment when Ellis hit the first bend full tilt next time round and Brandford and bike were still on the track. Â I think Branford is a competitive rider, and hopefully he will be given not just the chance to settle in, but also as much time as Nielsen, who seems to have a charmed life. The Dane is clearly tidy and capable, but surely the time he has been given could be better invested in more young Brits? I can't believe they've released Blackbird, but kept Nielsen. As for Graversen - what an incredibly awkward and ungainly rider - nothing else to say. Â A thoroughly good all round performance from the Witches - the jury is still out whether they can mount a serious challenge for the PL (especially after the thrashing at Workington), but they will definitely be in the mix. Â I had a chat with Adam Ellis after the meeting, for Rerun Productions, and as well as being a very talented rider, the impression I got was of a level-headed and articulate young man. Â Definitely one DVD I would recommend is worth a purchase .
Jonny the spud
Branford may have felt hard done by but made no attempt to get off the track at all, maybe his refusal to budge had some bearing on the refs decision.  Also shouting in the pits afterwards that if he was going to get excluded for that next time he'll just "ride straight through the c**t" may not be the cleverest thing to do as they are both young riders who may be riding together for Great Britain in years to come  All in all a good day and congratulations must go to the Ipswich track staff for preparing a very good racing surface that had riders passing all over the place.
