Rye House Handicap Racing 4/5/13

Recommended Posts

Was thinking about going as its a Saturday I can make and may need a fix + wife was due to be out. However GP on TV and wife now not going out.... GP beckons.

I think the write-up on last years event was not positive so may well give it a swerve.

Hmm, may struggle on this one then...

Is there anyone going to this meeting who would be able to text updates to the updates site? If so, could you please send me a private message including your mobile number.

Thanks

Saw the USA team in action at King's Lynn last night and would highly recommend you at least go along to see the very impressive duo of Gino Manzares and Rocco Scopollite plus Kiwi teen Hayden Sims in action even if nothing else 'floats your boat' as it were.

Alas I can't get there myself much as I'd like to as can't find a lift from here just the Kent side of the Dartford Tunnel and my current knee/ foot probs rule out going by train unfortunately. You can always record the GP!

Good meeting for the level it is being run at. Lots of passing practice for Jason G Steve B and Tyson. Manzares looks ok but just fell and is being treated on track for back and hip injury.

Better entertainment than the GP, which has been disappointing apart from 3 or 4 heats. I s'pose it was asking too much for another Bydgoszcz... Looking at the updates it seems like these American lads are decent until they are put under pressure and/or passed. Then they seem to lose control. Interesting to see the crowd level at Rye tonight.

Its a pity that Steve B ran short of fuel towards the end of the meeting and he couldn't find the filler cap, so was unable to take his place in the semi final.

The 3 riders that were the the class of the field were Steve, Jason and Nelson. Morley, Halsey and Manzares were not far off the pace. Really only one or two wobblers in the line up.

Overall some good races.

Excellent racing tonight, having watched these sort of meetings run slightly differently in California i m a big fan. Boxall Nelson and Garrity a joy to watch having to pick their way through the field. Entertaining night despite the big gulf in quality. One downer was the Gino injury, hope he is ok but Rye really need to sort this ambulance problem, more or less an hour between races whilst a county ambulance was called and not for the first time this season.

Any news on Manzares?

On Steve Evans FB page: "Gino was released from hospital earlier, nothing broken"
