BuxtonTiger
Why did it take till 8.20pm for the first two heats?
Yearbyred
Absolute disgrace that for the second week running we (the paying spectators) have had to stand around for three quarters of an hour (getting better I suppose it was an hour last week) while the track was sorted out.  There can be no excuses - it has not rained all week and yet we had a starting area like a paddy field of slop and dustbowl bends which resulted in some of the quickest action of the night as the hardy few on the second bend fled from the huge clouds of dust that appeared when we finally started. Why let people in, then have a parade, and then at the start time tell us the track isn't rideable unless works are done. Why not sort it out before the scheduled start time ( a revolutionary idea I know) or actually water the track evenly.  Utter shambles which reflects very badly on the Redcar promotion and the abysmal efforts at track preparation.  Shame that after the biggest home win in ages (against an admittedly poor Sheffield team) the main focus is on the track.  You cant continue to neglect the track because people will not bother to turn up - there were a lot of very unhappy people there tonight.  Redcar Speedway - 7.30pm for 8.00pm....or 8;15pm...or 8:30pm  Edit - just seen on updates Heat 10 described as from the gate. Not sure that Ricky Wells would agree as he chased and then swept around the outside of both Bears. Credit where it's due. scaramanga
SpeedwayGB website has Dyer at 18 points, updates has him at 12? Who is right? speedway updates site has been changed now dyer 18 pts instead of 12 and mitchell davey only 7+3 instead of 12+4 i think they had him so updater/texter must have had wrong riders down in some heats Edited May 3, 2013 by scarra
RedcarRacer
No getting away from it, track organisation was a shambles, that said it really didnt look that bad when we got there or when the parade was on, and I would say after the work and forgetting the dust the racing was excellent. Â Micky Dyer, what can you say, simply amazing and one of the best displays I have seen from a Middlesbrough/Redcar rider. Shame a miscalculation cost him the chance to go for 21. Â Ostergaard - improving, but still not his old self. Kus - Excellent but seemed to tire and suffer from bike issues. Wilkinson - Quickly emerging as real weak link, especially when you consider if we drop him and keep Davey we could bring in an 8 point man, something to consider. Summers - A bit subdued but was ok. Dyer - Wonderful Davey - Looked very smooth but more importantly pretty quick. Â Stead - On the whole very disappointing but improved as night went on. Albin - Thought he looked on the pace, full of potential. Haines - Poor Wells- Poor first ride then was excellent. Koppe - Way off the pace. Knight - See above
scaramanga
who preps the track at redcar now is it still the swales family or is it a new track team 2 weeks in a row big delays at the start time for the bspa to have a word maybe
vivabossman
Cant blame any of the track prep on the Swales family, seems they saw the light at the start of the season and walked away, well I would of aswell if id been asked to do it for nothing. Â Redcar will soon be the first track to offer spectators free goggles when you attend, will stand you in good sted for either to much water or to much dust. Â Tonight was an absolute joke, shockingly over watered start and home straight with bone dry bends, its no suprise Steady looked like he didnt want to be there. At the point now where Im seriously considering if I can be bothered to go again while this cirrent set of jokers are running the show.
montie
Is there restrictions is place at Redcar as to what time the can get in and work on the track?? Noticed Havelock jnr was having a pop at the Scunny shale after the sky meeting, maybe if such an expert he should sort out his home track first! Raker
You can access Redcar to prepare the track 7 days a week 24 hours a day.......so they can't use that excuse am afraid.
Shrimmy
Montie can you remember about 3 seasons ago redcar came to scunny and havelock complained that the track was grossly overwatered, what a joke he is !!!

graz gp
Just been speaking to someone who was at Redcar last night. They say they will never go there again the track was a disgrace. What made it worse was they took some friends with them who had never been to a speedway match before. They all got covered in dust and sh-t. Great advert for speedway.
Guest WTF1
Montie can you remember about 3 seasons ago redcar came to scunny and havelock complained that the track was grossly overwatered, what a joke he is !!! I think Mr Havelock had a loathing for the track as a rider as it showed many times when he rode it like a novice.
montie
It's a shame Redcar as a track has gone down hill as it used to be brilliant, and I guess soon could be again
Boro Bare
Really annoying thing is that when racing did eventually start it was quite a good meeting with as much passing as I've seen anywhere this year. There was way too much dust right from the start and turns 1 and 2 became too slick towards the end of the meeting but that was down to the lack of grading and watering which wasn't happening because of the delayed start. Could and should have been an excellent night. Â Good effort from the bears all the same and that was the best I've ever seen Wells ride. Great tussle with Ostergaard and Davey to take the win on the last lap in ht 10. Thought Albin deserved better than his 4 points as well. Â Let's see what next week brings. Harman
Wilkinson - Quickly emerging as real weak link, especially when you consider if we drop him and keep Davey we could bring in an 8 point man, something to consider. Â Or you could bring in the 2010 redcar rider of the year (yes i know 2010 wasn't the best year)
Backless
Just been speaking to someone who was at Redcar last night. They say they will never go there again the track was a disgrace. What made it worse was they took some friends with them who had never been to a speedway match before. They all got covered in dust and sh-t. Great advert for speedway. Â Â And THAT is the greatest problem - if Havelock wants to run Redcar into the ground, that's one thing but if your mates are Sheffield fans, chances are their friends might have popped into Owlerton. Probably not now though and whatever gripes fans might have with their promotion & team & bar prices, & burgers & car parks or whatever, it's hardly Messrs Machin & Hoggart's fault for last night's debacle. graz gp
Totally agree Backless. My friends are Sheffield fans. They will still go to Sheffield. But as for the first timers they were not very impressed with having a different coloured car and covered in all that cr-p. We have told them that it's not normally like that especially at Sheffield Edited May 4, 2013 by grazgp
