FrankThePug
With today being the 19th anniversary of Ayrton Senna's death at Imola I had a look back and noticed that Formula One have never hosted a race and only had a GP weekend once since it happened, it got me to wandering why are we hosting the British Final a year to the day of Rico's death surely the BSPA could have used a bit of sense and had it the week before or the week after it can't just be me who thinks that there should be no racing at all on May 13th
Arson fire
Life goes on and we have to move on IMO, might sound harsh but it does. Obviously friends and family with think otherwise as it will be an awful time for them.... So I'd go ahead with the meeting but maybe a minutes applause or some sort of memory or fitting tribute in lees honour on the night.

I thought the meeting would be a fitting tribute to Lee. Edited May 1, 2013 by Jacques
SCB
Lee wasn't just someone who raced speedway for a job, it was clearly a passion to him as seen by the work he was doing with the kids in recent years. What better way to honour his memory than the run the meeting in his name? Hopefully the BSPA will do something on the night to remember him. glasgowmicktiger
They will im going to email them just incase because that cant happen. I remember the shock of that day and will never forget. Last year on the 13th of may we were out celebrating my mums birthday and got home first thing i do is check the updates website to read about any matches that have happened and i read one of the comments on the thread saying what had happened to Lee....it was terrible and then i came on here and read it so thats when i joined the british speedway forum i had to leave a tribute for the poor guy R.i.P i was thinking on what way the bspa could remember Lee during this event and had a idea. A memorial trophy won by a one off race between the 4 who miss out on final spot so its another final before the final this way riders who dont have much chance of being british champion still have a goal of making this race to win this and its the perfect way to remember him. Make it run every british final and that way we can all remember him together at home or in monmore green every year and look forward to the race for his trophy. 40-38
Or better still just make the trophy that they win the Lee Richardson Memorial Trophy?
