scaramanga
Given that Dyer's current GSA is lower than Bellego's, why do you believe that Bandits cannot use Dyer as a guest for Bellego, and r/r for Ashworth ? proberbly because guest facility for bellego is not a option r/r maybe the only option depending why hes missing If we did take Dyer as a guest, could he take a rider replacement ride or would he be bound by Ricky's average? Dyer would be a brilliant guest! Even at number 1. any guest is bound by the riders average/position hes replacing
fairplay1
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone else from Berwick but I put this question to David at the start of season Q&A and was told that we'd be eligible to have a facility for him! Or am I now making things up in my head? R/R is a facility, if there was no facility it would be national league rider only..

Boobs
Glad this is moving on from track/team/presentation/promotion moans. I cannot believe Bandits would choose to use r/r for Bellego (not least if Dyer is available) instead of having Micky in and using r/r at No 1. Was the announcement referred to an official listing of the line-up, or just a notification of Bellego being away?
Paulco
From memory,Tabaka passed Edberg Ht2,Smith passed both Comets riders Ht4,Smith & Aarnio both made passes in Ht7.Thats four, making your post incorrect. Remember just because riders arent passing and re-passing,that doesnt mean there wasnt decent racing.Ht15 for example,Comets riders made the gate Harrison lead all the way,but there was great covering going on from Lawson who had both Berwick riders to contend with. I can never quite understand your average speedway fan's fixation with passing anyway . OK yes it's exciting to watch a race where riders are swapping places , but i've seen many a classic race when the guy in front uses all his trackcraft to keep an opponent behind him . OK yes it's exciting to watch a race where riders are swapping places , but i've seen many a classic race when the guy in front uses all his trackcraft to keep an opponent behind him . That's very good. One of the best-loved speedways of the past was Exeter where just the spectacle of seeing then ride the banking was enough to bring in the crowds. At Berwick, the riders going around the 3rd/4th bends is an incredible sight, and if they are up close and personal, even without passing it is a thrill to watch, like the old County Ground. Ithink it was either Dennis or Dick announced it to the crowd and pretty sure he said it would be R/R for Bellego. Dick? What happened to the new guy? wjm
Yep, I didn't answer that one, it's because they are getting out of the gate first. I think Alex's point was it is quite difficult to come from behind at the moment. What a lot of people have missed are his other comments that he is always pushing to improve himself. Some people on here are going to get what they wished for, then realise it wasn't actually what they wanted after all... Has that not happened several times over already…. The battle cry on here for a while was that dropping Complin to improve scores on the road was the way to go… A counter of dropping a rider like Complin, who, entertained and scored heavily at home, for riders who would perform steadily away was surely always going to be vulnerability at home…(more so when you have a Number 1 guest who has such an off night). Thus far the experiment and need to score more on the road has worked, respectable enough scores around Glasgow, Redcar and to a lesser extent Edinburgh have been countered by that lack of stability at home a rider like Complin brought. Yet, like a few other things, when it suits, that’s just forgotten about very quickly.. Replacing a rider with the scoring power of Complin on his average at home was always, a: going to be prove difficult, and b: probably going to take more than a few meetings to solve or to truly establish how that experiment had worked. If you wish for a side that is built for “all around strength” and not simply strength at home, maybe best to let them race a few meetings (home and away) to really get a clear picture of how things are going to play out. “social media”, forums, facebook sites etc, for all their strengths really have a lot to answer for, they seem to have created this real knee-jerk mentality in fans..add in shows like X-Factor, and BGT everyone now seems to think you need to make a definitive decision on things right away, either black, or white, no grey, and that’s it and you can never stray from that opinion. Tis especially nuclear on Berwick threads where each week turns into a Lord of The Rings style saga, yet pretty much the same issues persists at 80% of tracks in the country yet their fans seem to move on, or “get over it” pretty quickly… Edited May 6, 2013 by wjm

I could be wrong but sure im not, if 2 riders are out in the main 1 to 5 body of the team you get choice of guest for either rider and RR for the other so in my book Dyer could guest for Bellego with RR for Ricky making all the bandits elegible to take a ride for for Ricky,

However the alleged knowledgeable Berwick posters on here , claim that only a guest for Ashworth & r/r for Bellego is permitted. My understanding was that if a guest was only permitted for Ashworth, then it would be because only a NL replacement would be allowed for Bellego. If Berwick lose at home it's like someone's died in our house. Yep, that's it. Love the way a week ago it was "I don't care that we've won a nail-biter, the racing was crap and the track is lousy" --- now it is "I don't care that the track was better and there was close racing throughout, we lost so the team we asked for during the winter is crap and must be replaced NOW"

screm
Berwick Speedway have issued a statement warning of possible legal action against persons making ‘slanderous’ comments about them on social networking sites. A statement issued by the club on Monday said: “It has been brought to the attention of the Directors of Berwick Bandits Speedway Club Ltd that certain individuals are using social network sites to make slanderous statements about them. “The Directors of Berwick Bandits Speedway Club Ltd can categorically assure fans that we have not taken a penny from the club and that all monies raised within the stadium or through sponsorship or advertising is spent on the business of the club. “Since taking over, the current Directors have had to put personal money in each year to ensure the club’s survival. “The Directors appreciate the rights of individuals to have an opinion on the running of the club and have often stated that we will listen to fans comments and act upon them whenever possible. “However, the current statements by certain individuals make it necessary for the Directors to advise that slanderous statements will result in appropriate legal action to ensure the integrity of the club and its Directors.” Taken from The Berwick Advertiser on line.
