Mini Jack
Not half as unprofessional as Gaaham Drury taking it seriously! Graham Drury, unprofessional. Most definitely seriously
TwoMinuteWarning
Interesting to note that Josef Franc qualified as the wild card at the Prague GP by winning the Marketa Open Championship meeting at Prague on April 30 (see latest Speedway Star).
pugwash
BSI are reading crowd appeal wrongly if they think that the apperance of Chris Harris at Cardiff will boost the crowd. We're now not going because of it.

The Know
And maybe others are now going because of it? Dont think any British rider puts numbers on the gate. The attendance has petty much stayed the same really. You will pretty much always get the same number turn up, maybe few more or few less. Harris put anything on the gate ? Na, maybe a few years back. Still agreat event though and most people go to see all the riders who dont ride in the uk or never have, to see the best not some brit who dont cut the mustard. Hope ya all have a great time who is going as i would like to be there :-(

Cornishman
BSI are reading crowd appeal wrongly if they think that the apperance of Chris Harris at Cardiff will boost the crowd. We're now not going because of it. Why would anyone not go just because they don't agree with 1 rider being there? That's mental. All you're doing is cutting your nose off to spite your face and missing out on the biggest event of the year. Also, I know of some people going up from down here to support the 'local lad' who probably wouldn't have been going otherwise so there's some extra on the gate for you ;-)
JT
You really couldn't make this up...http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/3151/cardiff-bonus-for-british-champThe year Harris wasn't guaranteed a place at Cardiff, they change their procedure to shoe horn him in as a Wild Card. Now they've succeeded in getting him in to the series full time by gifting him a Challenge place, they change the rules back, with absolutely no official explanation for changing the parameters last year.Just what does Harris have on these people?!JT. The decisoin though is the right one, everyone now knows the situation and 14 riders will go into the British Final with the carrot of a place at Cardiff. Will the BSPA explain their actions - going on past behaviour then I think a resounding 'no'.

The BSPA could lobby for a certain set up but ultimately can insist on nothing .

The BSPA could lobby for a certain set up but ultimately can insist on nothing . As far as I know, the decision for the wildcard for Cardiff last year was given to the host nation body to sort out, not BSI, but it was established that the BSPA were aware of the decision long before the British Final and chose not to inform either the riders or the public. Steve_R
People moan when the BSI pick a rider instead of going via the Birtish final, and now the BSI change it back to qualifying thirough the British final, and guess what - the moaners are out again. phillipsr
Why did they change it last year?? Because the realised Harris might not make now hes in they change it back. The reason people are moaning as you say is because its now blatant it was done to get Harris in Edited February 21, 2014 by phillipsr
