Belle Vue Aces Vs Poole Pirates 29/4/2013

Recommended Posts

Well on Monday the Pirates make the difficult trip up to Kirky Lane to take on the Aces.

Belle Vue have made wholesale changes to thier squad this season and are fairly solid around thier Home track.

Chris Holder has stated in the past that it's not one of his favourite tracks although he has had some good scores there.

My concern is our Polish riders will struggle to pick up points around Belle-Vue and Dennis Andersson has not fared well there either.

This has a home win marked all over it as we have made an indifferent start to 2013 and our two Aussies are not at thier best.

Kyle Howarth and Rowan Tungate have performed well so far but Kirkmanshulme Lane is difficult to master.

Thoughts?

Kyle is an ex Belle Vue junior who lives down the road. He's already mastered the track.

Tradition has it that Holder moans about the track then scores a max.

The other tradition is the Aces number 1 & 5 are out of the meeting by heat 6.

Kyle is a trier for sure and if it was on effort he would score a lot as he tried in every Colts race. Holder and Ward normally moan about Belle Vue track, but name me a rider that hasn`t moaned about our track before! And only occurs Aces rider pulling out when the Sky cameras come to us. As apart from other week, they normally involve our riders sitting out the meeting. Personally i think Belle Vue will win as Poole have a couple that may struggle at Kirky lane. But i think Poole may take a point off us.

After the euphoria of the away win at EOES the Aces will be riding a wave. However, the thing to remember is that the Pirates have 2 number 1s, whereas Peterborough have ???. One thing for sure, Zorro needs to up his game from the lack lustre rides at EOES. He will need to play the part of an Aces heat leader. I suppose Artur will have his usual enigmatic meeting, but it needs to be 100% better than Fridays efforts. Dryml will take heart from his P'Boro meeting, and Cookie will be a welcome returnee. RR is ok when the team are all firing, but they were certainly not doing the biz on Friday. Nemo and Wolbert should be ok against the long Pirates tail, but beware the TR, and the heats involving the Gruesome Twosome. All in all a difficult one to forecast, but the Aces should have just enough to win this. They may give away a point though.

I always get the impression Zorro is a whining old man he whines at everything.

Looks like Ward is on an average reducing exercise, Will the league`s number one (ooops that should be Woffy right now :approve: ) be as poor again on Monday?

Or do Poole have a plan??

Yes a cunning one,........... make the play offs between the BOTTOM four teams, about late August

Always a plan, but the new averages for May 1st don't show much of a reduction across the team as a whole!!! Maybe June 1st is the target.......!!

Looks like poole have a plan,as the current team will not win the e.l they need a 4th heavy points scorer to go along with the twins and magic to stand a chance of matching Swindon over 2legs in the final IMO,wonder how much the averages will come down by the 1st june....

With alot of strong teams at the top of the league scoring lots of points, it could be a huge risk, also will be made harder only being allowed 2 riders from top 20 averages

That only applied to the initial team building for the start of the season - to ensure some equality amongst all 10 EL teams. NB. Good to see Miskoviak back on a bike today and scoring 14 points!! Won't be back tomorrow though!!
