Stoke V Buxton

Recommended Posts

hope to get to Stoke tomoz,to see the lads beat the potters. If they all ride like they did sunday we have a good chance. Will Widders have to be at two because we got away with him at reserve on sunday. But it will be better for Tom being down at res i think we have got the stronger 6 and7 than Stoke if Tony as sorted his bike out we can win this one i feel very up about this team.

Widman isn't riding for you, you have your own team ;)

Line Up's are as follows (According to the stoke site)

Stoke

Smart, Reade, Widman, Priest, Hughes, Tedham, Jones

Buxton

Wright, Govier, Blacklock, Mckinna, Atkin, Woolley, Williamson

I expect Stoke to win by about 10.

Just seen line ups cant believe Widders as been let go,will have to see what Grevier is like. But if he lets the team down once more it will serve em right.Think Jack must be loosing the plot in his old age to let Widders go but we will see.

Chris was only guesting last Sunday, as he is tonight, which is good for him. It shows that he has not been forgotten but he can only guest in this pair of matches since they are "friendly challenges".

Tyler is in the declared Buxton squad so please give him a chance to show what he can do at a higher level of speedway than he has been riding so far. It will be a tough opening weekend for him so please give him some support.

45 all after Stoke lead by 13 points with 5 heats to go .

Charles Wright was awesome and Atkin not surprisingly looked the business on his return to Loomer Road.

Stoke hit and miss with Smart falling away as the meeting progressed , Reade looking of the pace by his standards.

On the positive side Priest , Tedham and Hughes showed positives , but Jones was miles off the pace.

Well done to Buxton on their fight back

An exciting night, if a little disappointing, as a Potters fan, that we couldn't put it away when we had the chance, but all credit to Buxton, Wright looks very impressive, and Tony had a good night, and your reserves looked strong.

As for us, Lee looked good except in the last heat. Ben took a while to warm up, but was strong in his last 2 heats. Luke had a good night and deserved his place in heat 15, Kyle also was good except in heat 13.

Our reserves fortunes swapped places, after a stinker at Buxton, with many questionning his commitment, Shaun Tedham had a great night - something to build on. Whilst Emerson Jones was well off the pace, both in this and the subsequent Spitfire meeting - not sure if it was mechanical or confidence after last week's incident - I suspect the latter, and hope he sorts it soon.

Talking of Spitfires, I was impressed with Lee Payne - who put his heart and soul into each race, and was not afraid to really go for it - I hope to see him riding for us soon.

Was impressed with new programmes on Saturday....except did anyone else notice on the scoresheetsistead of saying "Home" and "Visitors" it said "Wolves" and "Visitors" - I wonder who is arranging the printing

There wasn't a race card for the Spitfire's or did I miss that. This may just have been an oversight though :-)

Also noticed that the programme stated a 7.30 start instead of 7 !

Yes, it was a separate sheet - they didn't give me it at the gate, but some did - so we asked at the track shop.

Yes a few bits need ironing out !
