Shadders
will armed guard and police escorts come in with the package. I thought that was the norm at Workington home meetings Edited April 30, 2013 by Shadders
skoobie
Workington are just so strong, Mick Dyer in at reserve will negate Lawson's absence. Will you please refrain from posting rubbish on here please!

Backless
Really? Handful of good heats but great racing? 9 heat wins from gate 4 says it all really. "The track has so many racing lines" Despite repeating it all night, for the most part if you go out wide & stay there you'll pass anyone in front who doesn't stay wide. How many racing lines does that make? Rosco classic "Tom Palm Toft". He's big mates with Michael Jorgensen who also rode tonight.
OBSCENESPEEDWAY
I thought the presenters were very entertaining & amusing to watch, cant be that bad if they have everybody talking

How many racing lines does that make? Towards the end of the meeting there was only one line but earlier on there was at least 6 passes on the inside, thats more than some tracks get in a whole meeting. mickthemuppet
The meeting was not a good advert for British Speedway because the tapes were flapping up and down before nearly every race. If that had been sorted out it would have been a lot better. Why do they have just two independent tapes
JamieE
After a miserable night on the terraces at Brandon on Monday and the boring meeting it produced for Sky I thought this was a good meeting and just what I needed to pick my enthusiasm for speedway back up. With the novelty of no tactical rides, some good races with a last heat decider and good conversation throughout from Pearson, Rosco and Tai, I thought it was the best meeting on Sky so far this year.
mikebaker
Would of been nice for Pearson to mention that Dyer was riding for Redcar this year. He kept on reminding us of his 2010 stint with his beloved Heathens.
speedwaysliders
first time in a long time that i could have watched more of this product called speedway, really enjoyed the meeting, every race well contested,so many different lines on the track that it made it fantastic viewing, you could never predict the winner, even the commentry was good with a bit of banter with rosco, tai and nigel. Also 14 riders at a meeting instead of this R/R STUPID DOUBLE UP RULE thats in the elite league. Hackett
Really enjoyed that meeting. Both Scunthorpe and Workington served up a thriller. One meeting doesn't make a summer but wish the Scunthorpe track was my nearest track rather than Eastbourne. That meeting surpassed any of the Elite League racing I have seen this season on Sky Sports or at Arlington. Scunthorpe should take a bow for that meeting. So many race lines riders were moaning they didn't know where to ride. The banter between Rosco , Pearson and Woffinden was good value too.

dump that clutch
pretty good viewing last night, although i thought the ref was blind excluding Micky Dyer, WTF.... Howe took him out, a clear decision if ever there was... Was it the same ref who bailed out making a decision with Holder and Pedersen last year????? oldace
Enjoyable meeting. Ref a disgrace excluding Dyer.in heat 15. Have you ever read the rules?. The race was stopped and the ref had to decide who was the "primary" cause of the stoppage. Dyer was coming back to the line and pretty much hit Howes back wheel. The ref had to apportion blame and if he judged the accident to be 55% Dyer to 45% Howe then Dyer goes as the "primary" cause. The ref got it spot on.

Gavan
The ref has cost the Comets a point tonight, however good meeting to watch and hope Sky learn that they need to show more meetings from PROPER SPEEDWAY TRACKS. did you watch the meeting? wasnt a classic was it? gate 4 was a huge advantage. if you think exciting speedway is going out in the dirt from the start and going quick then thats up to you. only 1 line on the track which was totally proved time and again. even the commentators and Tai were telling riders to go out wide! My team are in the premier league but good meetings can happen on ANY track premier or elite. Point proved in heat 15 saying great ride by Cook. He didnt have to do anything as Howe bottled it around the kerb. Take your fast track blinkers off!! Totally agree cant wait to see Newcastle when they are on last nights rubbish or tonight? what was better.? last nights as better because only 1 team turned up on Monday! you need 2 good teams to make a good meeting simple as. i thought the scunny match was processional in places to Enjoyable meeting. Ref a disgrace excluding Dyer.in heat 15. well both Rosco and Tai whose opinion i value far more than yours said Dyer was more at fault so to call the ref is a disgrace is a bit of a joke. this is the same ref who should have excluded Holder in the last gp but didnt. Bet he wasnt a disgrace then was he with your beloved pirate. I thought Dyer was unlucky to be excluded but the ref isnt a disgrace
oldace
You clown, Howe run into him, end of story! Thats fine if you think that, It doesn't matter that fans like yourself have no understanding of racing, fortunately most refs do and in this case called it spot on. well both Rosco and Tai whose opinion i value far more than yours said Dyer was more at fault so to call the ref is a disgrace is a bit of a joke. this is the same ref who should have excluded Holder in the last gp but didnt. Bet he wasnt a disgrace then was he with your beloved pirate. I thought Dyer was unlucky to be excluded but the ref isnt a disgrace He was indeed unlucky, it wasn't 100% his fault but he was slightly more to blame than Howe and so had to go. (end of story) I added that last bit, not because I am a halfwit, but because I think it makes my point more valid Edited May 1, 2013 by Oldace
Adder
Ref must have been related to Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles after his Heat 15 decision. Decent enough plate of egg and chips though, enhanced by the comedic commentary from the two Aussies (Woffy and Rosco!).
Gavan
Meeting was a good product. Racing was interesting not over by the first bend. Birks was great value, Howe, Auty, Howarth, Morris and Cook stepped up too. The track was a racers track and it was good tv. The awful refereeing decision in heat 15 when he had replays was awful and spoiled the heat a bit. Dyer rode well too. Scunthorpe showed what a great track it is, great watch. Totally agree and sky pundits changed their minds as well. it is a good track yes but why do people insist that a fast track must be good racing!!! basically if you were off gate 4 and in the dirt that was it!! best racer we have ever seen in my opinion is Mark Loram and to watch him ride eastbourne and wolves was a joy to behold. lets get away from fast tracks make good racing! There was a bit on the inside as well to be fair. The meeting was back and forward and a last heat decider as well. Lots of passing for me it was a good watch Really? more than the cov match yes but hardly a classic
