Workington V Ipswich (koc) 2nd Leg 27/04/13 7.00pm

I see Ben Barker has made a remarkable recovery from the wrist he broke at Sheffield on Thursday

X-rayed on Friday and not broken - heavily strapped and declared himself fit. Blinkin good job too, based on the result!

Incidentally, Stead has made an amazing recovery from his shoulder injury ...

Yup , well done to Workington , their home advantage appears to be far greater than ours !

I know the texters and updaters on the updates site are using their own phones but " seriously " ?

' Woop Woop ' ' Woo Hoo ' and then ' Great ! ' to Bens engine failure are hardly constructive comments .

Given the form Cams been in please let him be OK .

Well done comets, showed our boys how to race a racers track. Ben Ritchie and to some extent Adam aside the rest must have been totally out classed. Some of their riders can't ride our track and most of ours can't ride theirs. Oh well that's one piece of silverware completely out the window. Hope cam is not too badly hurt.

Why Adam aside? 5 rides and 5 lasts!

I said to some extent, meaning he is still very inexperienced and does he yet have engine set ups for somewhere like that? But yes he obviously wasn't any good either, but riders like Leigh and morten should be doing a lot better. I've never rated morten on away tracks apart from Plymouth. Like someone has already said, just when you think we may do ok, it all goes breasts up in a big way.

Risager is a strange one and I'm not sure where this notion comes from that he should be doing better. There were hopes early on in his career for Risager because he arrived in the top flight so young. But the fact is he's NEVER hit any particular heights. It's not as if he's been a 6 or 7 point Elite League man and suddenly suffered a fall from grace. I think people just need to accept what Risager is, and that is a middle order Premier League rider.

Maybe he meant he's a 17 year old kid with only half a dozen premier league meetings under his belt and has never even seen the track before ?

I see the doom merchants are starting already

Here we go Dad rolleyes.gif I'm sorry but to me it seemed a little bizarre to exempt a rider from the "out classed" list who failed to score a point from 5 rides.

Adam is a 3 point rider - 6 at home and nil away this time. So he did his job.

Cant believe anyone is having a go at him for 1 no score meeting!!!

I wasn't doing the "dad" bit. Just pointing out maybe what the previous poster may have meant. I won't post any more just bow to your superior knowledge.

Maybe you could offer him your expert advice on where it went wrong then ?

Absolutely, the kid is bedding in and must be allowed to learn without any pressure. The rewards will be reaped in time without a doubt. Edited by blupanther

But it's this meeting we should be talking about, not previous meetings. I thought it was a strange comment to make too in all honesty and I also didn't see it as any major criticism. He'll surely be disappointed not to score from 5 rides no? It's not a dig, it happens and it'll happen again I'm sure.

Jonny is this going to happen every time someone makes a comment that is not particularly favourable towards Adam? You really are in the wrong place if you are going to become irritated so easily in what I personally don't think is even a harsh point made. Edited by CardinalSin

Fantastic result from the Comets but first i hope Cameron Heeps is ok, he got up after a fairly innocuous looking fall and then there were two ambulances on the track, the announcer said he was suffering from neck pain.

A great team display helped by the two guest Dyer and Cook although Ashley Morris struggled tonight but we lose as a team and win as team and Ash did score well at Ippo.

May post some photo's tomorrow.

Well done again Worky. :approve: :approve:
