mdmc82
Not just the track, which was awful, I agree. The infield was untrimmed and shaggy, there seemed to be only one (admittedly, a small New Holland job) tractor in service -- and the way the airfence parted to let Rory Schlein pass through and whack into the metal retaining fence was frightening. What is worse -- Poole are one of the smarter EL circuits! Pooles track has been on the decline for a while. Surprised it pasted an safety inspection tonight. Air fence not good either, really glad both riders got up from their crash. Berwick produced a much better meeting and it was more exciting to watch
bigeddiechek
Giving the meeting we had on Sky last tuesday, tonights efforts at Poole make me take back everything Ive ever said about our track at Shielfield. Simply shocking. Some Berwick fans don't know how lucky we are.
Arson fire
Some Berwick fans don't know how lucky we are. will the track be like that every week though?? I hope so as they've set a precedent that they can provide a decent surface....

Maybe some EL see a Sky meeting as a deserved right for being in the EL,and have forgot hoe to promote a Sky meeting. Not all mind you, from what Ive seen Wolverhampton and Kings Lynn always seem to put on a good show, but others like Poole last night really need to up their game some what. Compare that to some PL clubs who do seem to make an effort when they get the cameras.

Well, after a poor start, it has been good for two meetings in a row. I actually think it was slightly better for the Leicester meeting. I'm optimistic until I see otherwise.

Ian Rae once told me heavy rain the day before a meeting but NOT on the day of the meeting helps the track preperation enormously.

That tells me that the track should be heavily watered the day before the meeting if the forecast allows ,don't know if this is what happens normally,A fairly well watered track always produces good racing after the first few heatsI IMO . screm
Whether its been by luck nor design or a bit of both, theres certainly been an improvement in the racing over the last 2 home meetings, hopefully the Ipswich meeting will be a continuation of the same.If we cast our minds back to last years visit of the Witches, the track was ultra slick and they handed out a lesson in gating, and gave the home side a servere beaten.

That would make sense. With regard to the two most recent meetings, someone told me new material that had been added a few weeks back had started to get mixed through and was adding more grip on the inside. I have no idea if there is any truth in that. The racing was certainly miles better in those two meetings, and very entertaining.

David Johnston1
Just back from holiday and been reading the speedway star. What was the difference between Andrew Tully and Przemyslaw Pawlicki. Newcastle seem to have received a facility for one rider and Poole seem to have missed out with the other. Thanks in advance for explaining the rules.
