Ipswich V Scunthorpe (pl) - Thursday, 18 April 2013 @ 19:30

Recommended Posts

Looking at many posts there has been a dark cloud over the Witches since 20.00 (the year that is!!)

Come on everyone cheer up and get behind the boys!

I think the year may have been 1998, Im afraid after that great season with the great Magda's influential input, things have rapidly gone all down hill since! Now languishing in the premier league, the only heart-warming thing is, we still have speedway to watch many have not. But the gates are falling away with last weeks one of the lowest I can remember, it just goes to show most fans want Elite League racing with a competitive team, not premier!!

And you've never acknowledged the fact that despite yuor admiration of Magda Zimny-Louis, there's little doubt that her continuing influence was the driver behind the over-reliance on Polish riders - at the expense (sic) of arguably better riders. In fact, she is very similar to that of Maggie Thatcher - a strong-minded woman, who did exactly what she thought was right, but her legacy was that of a downward trend.

The weather is still set fair. Some clouds over Ipswich, but it's so windy they will zoom across. Showers possible, but given that the topsoil of a field at Martlesham has been blown across the village and the A12 today, the track at Foxhall must be bone dry, and Trackman Bob probably wouldn't mind some natural watering.

What's the weather doing in Ipswich, just had an almighty storm with thunder and lightning for about 20mins the other side of Colchester, heading towards Ipswich.

Gone dark very suddenly, and just heard the first thunder ...

Hopefully it will pass over with a suitable watering of the track, and Bob will have enough time to complete his prep :)

I'm sat here wearing shorts and t-shirt, I'm not afraid of a little bad weather!!

We will need some water on the track after the high winds and I expect Bob has been watering it most of the day and will probably continue to do so.

I can't see us losing this meeting - even with our six riders - but in saying that I thought Somerset would beat us quite easily last week - so expect a SJackalhorpe win this evening!
