raymondbudd
I can just see the confusion regards TV revenue in the BSPA & Go Speed offices now. I'd suggest this is one reason why there is no UK representation yet. According the Go Speed, they own UK TV rights to SGB events. I recall issues regarding the Champions League relating to the rights in 2012. Since the UK representation would be via SGB. It follows that if SGB send representation, GoSpeed will want a share of the UK pie. I think it's great that other promoters are introducing alternatives to the dross that is BEL. Eurosport in particular are aquiring a strong portfolio.
SteveLyric2
Very disappointing that the BSPA declines the offer to send a British pair into this meeting. Surely England / GB could be competitive even without Woffy. How about Harris and Nicholls? I think that's what Drury and Horton must be asking!!!!??? Bavarian
I think that's what Drury and Horton must be asking!!!!??? No meetigns scheduled for either Coventry or B'ham on Saturday June 8, so why should Drury or Horton block their star riders from representing Great Britain and let them earn some decent money in a big interantional pairs meeting in Poland that night? uk_martin
I don't think that Drury would block any of the Brummie Brits from earning a living. That said, would you really want Nicholls out there representing this country? Check out his scores recently... That said, if the BSPA wanted to send a GB pairing, they would have to pay for it...and I think you can see where this is leading...it's not like everyone is flushed with cash at the moment, and certainly not to spend on a bit of a "jolly" for a lucky twosome, for no benefit to the parent organisation, is it? You miss my point!! With the way both are underperforming at the moment, why would they be selected??
Bavarian
O.k., I really did not understand how it was meant. But are tehre no other British riders good enough to ride in such a big international meeting? Is British speedway already at such a low level that they should better be left out of a top 7 nations of the world event? I would not have thought so, but some people on this forum seem to be of that opinion. Well, most likely now the USA will take the place that the Brits did not want. I guess is, the USA will be represented by Greg Hancock and Ricky Wells.
daveallan81
Second reason for the BSPA not wanting to play ball - http://translate.goo...lska-o-speedway From the above... More "expansive" is a member of the representative of the sponsor GKSŻ and SEC - of Nice - Adam Krużyński . - Żużel jest jeden. - Slag is one. Nie można wprowadzać podziałów w sposób, jaki wybrali Brytyjczycy. You can not make divisions in how they have chosen the British. Jest to zbyt małe środowisko, w którym wszyscy musimy się nawzajem szanować, a nie zwalczać. It's too small an environment in which we all have to respect each other and not fight. Takimi sposobami możemy jedynie doprowadzić do całkowitego upadku żużla - wyjaśnił Krużyński. Such methods can only lead to the total collapse of the slag - Krużyński said. It's official. Speedway is slag. And it's on Google so it must be true. Just noticed USA added as 7th team on official website, just Hancock listed so far. pandorum
Surely Jepsen Jensen would be a better pick than Iversen? Niels seems to go missing on the big stage (1st Grand Prix) with Michael also being a former Torun rider. Are you mental? It's a rhetorical question Iversen is a PROVEN rider where your guy had one season that was half decent and since the end of last season has been about as much use as a second anus on a constipated Orangutan. Dropped by the UK and Poland and how long will his uselessness be tolerated in Sweden and even his home league. Your boy has proven himself to be a one trick pony and was found out last year. PL standard at best mate and your dribblings will not alter that one bit The clue is in the title....BEST not ordinary Edited May 2, 2013 by pandorum

But he does come out with a lot (well maybe not a lot) of sense sometimes which is something a great many here could take note of (not having a pop at you BTW) especially in the EL section. He is not as daft as he seems. Edited May 2, 2013 by pandorum

Surely you understand why Michael would be the logical pick over Niels.
