dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
No thread yet with just hours to tapes up. Whats the weather like? Is it on or not? If yes Witches win by 4.
Jackal
If the meeting goes ahead lets hope its the Witches team of last night that turns up and Ben returning to his old track inspires him to a return of last seasons form. Makinen apart (he needs to go) lets hope all the riders score well and who knows might come away with a point or two, well I can dream can't I. Baldyman
Well Rye won there so why can't we. Risager normally scores pretty well here and Ben obviously knows the fastest way round, not sure it will be to Adams liking but he is learning fast so you never know. Will we win or will it be back to earth with a big bump. Can Jari continue his scintillating form and score another point? Who knows. BluPanther
Weather looks ok in Plymouth, could be a close one with the reserves playing a major part. A big score from Barker would go a long way towards getting a win. Witches need him to score big on their travels, and tonight is a good time to start. 2ndbendbeerhut
Last time the Witches rode here it was a 47-43 loss, but they did win in the League Cup 51-41. Risager seems to love the place scoring 30 pts over the 2 meetings, with Heeps 7+2, Lanham 16+2, Tungate 15+2 also doing well. Makinen had 6 rides for Leicester scoring 4+1. Barker obviously knows the place inside out so could be ok. Plymouth were poor last time at home so could we sneek a win? A lot will depend on how fit Heeps is after his t-boning last night. Ellis rode at the SBA in the Under-21 qualifier - so he has got more experience there than a virtually any other circuit Plymouth preview here: http://plymouthdevils.co/article-3.html Pete Simmons tweeted recently that they had reached Bristol and it's dry. Baldyman
I know he rode there Dave, but didn't he come off 3 times in not very good conditions.
Jonny the spud
yup, won one heat , one last bend crash whilst fighting for the lead, and two offs on a track that the home side refused to do their P&P day on as they deemed it too dangerous. The meeting should never have gone ahead.
Baldyman
Thanks for that, wish him all the best for tonight.

Baldyman
Come on Louis do the right thing and drop Jari, you know it makes sense
CardinalSin
Good win. Makinen remains the big concern and that problem needs to be sorted if we are to have any success because you simply can't carry any passengers if you want to win things. 2 points in his 5 meetings?? Woeful in the extreme. On a brighter note, Heeps' great start continues. Come on Louis do the right thing and drop Jari, you know it makes sense It seems such a shame to be in this position so early in the season. I do feel sorry for the lad but Louis had a decision to make fairly quickly I think. A rider like Justin Sedgman in place of Makinen could see the club fighting for honours. Leave things as they are for too long and that chance could disappear.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Ipswich have a commendable reputation for giving a rider time to turn things round. However if there is a true desire to be Premier League champions then there comes a time that a ruthless streak is needed. Now could be that time. The first 'real' match comes along on Thursday and any dropped home point could be vital.
Baldyman
Depends if you actually want to win anything or not, we are normally very slow at replacing riders and Louis want to lose face after stating the potential jari has. Clearly the lad probably does have potential, but it's not at speedway at this level.
CardinalSin
Ipswich have a commendable reputation for giving a rider time to turn things round. However if there is a true desire to be Premier League champions then there comes a time that a ruthless streak is needed. Now could be that time. The first 'real' match comes along on Thursday and any dropped home point could be vital. The problem is it's now or never. Replacing him is not going to be easy with the limited points available but one rider is screaming out and that is Justin Sedgman. He's issued a come and get me plea so is available, and his average believe it or not fits if the club signed him and re-declared the 1-7. I don't think he will sit on the shelf too long before somebody snaps him up so the opportunity is there if they move quickly. Whether they can afford it financially is another matter but sometimes you have to speculate to accumulate. Make the change, more chance of success and more chance of numbers on the gate. Super Blue
Its a pity that we feel the need to be talking about Makinen having to go when we should be celebrating a win but the fact remains that a BIG mistake was made in signing him up ! As said by the Cardinalsin 2 points in 5 meetings is simply not good enough . We wouldn't be happy with a reserve scoring like that let alone a no2 ! Let's be honest here , Makinen is nothing more than an average National league rider and is not right for the Witches . Will Louis make the right decision and replace him while we still can ? I seriously doubt it but we can only hope !
