cityrebel
God knows what state British speedway will be in by the time this new stadium gets built. The whole sport might be running at NL level by then!

Phil The Ace
In all honesty its less likely to happen now than it did 2 years ago Edited February 25, 2014 by Phil The Ace
Daniel Smith
In all honesty its less likely to happen now than it did 2 years ago Agree, the longer the current promotion are in their current home any finances gained to fund the new stadium will be frittered away having to fund the current setup. Just can't see Belle Vue turning any profits over the last few seasons since the proposed move. If I was a brick owner I'd be chasing to get my money back while I could. Although, this would be catch 22 as any money paid back would send the club into melt down I'm sure.
The Pedaler
What's the situation about all those people who donated to buy bricks? If the stadium doesn't get the go-ahead, do they get their money back?

I'll get me coat.

Perhaps best to ask Matt Ford as he must have bought the majority of them.
ABS
What's the situation about all those people who donated to buy bricks? If the stadium doesn't get the go-ahead, do they get their money back? I've kept my receipt just in case. I believe that there are two discrete companies for the current operation and the stadium, so I would hope that the brick money is held by the company for the stadium. PHILIPRISING
AS I understand it the Sports Village project, which includes the new speedway stadium, has become bogged down with the whole regeneration scheme for the area and is even tied in with the enlargement of the Ethiad Stadium, for which Manchester City (FC) have just won approval. It is very frustrating for all concerned, none more so than David Gordon who has now been working on this for seven long years. The continual delays will inevitably increase scepticism about whether this stadium will actually be constructed at all but although the wheels are grinding ever more slowly they are still grinding.
Humphrey Appleby
The continual delays will inevitably increase scepticism about whether this stadium will actually be constructed at all but although the wheels are grinding ever more slowly they are still grinding. Which is what some on here have been suggesting all along, to scepticism from those who were saying it was all imminent. I think every speedway fan hopes this will happen, but many have seen and heard it all before.

Bruiser McHuge
Well all the development around Manchester City's ground seems to be proceeding nicely...plenty of building work, the new college over the road progressing nicely and covering a massive area,, the stadium itself has been approved for expansion It seems only the speedway stadium is bogged down !.......I was positive this would happen but the updates from Belle Vue themselves are shocking and with everything seemingly moving then I honestly now doubt this will happen at all...I hope I'm wrong.
