Sheffield V Leicester League Cup Decider Thurs 11.04.13

Arnt we forcast some wet stuff ?

According to this evenings forecast we are due for some rain (not known exactly how much, but not thought to be torrential) during the day, but this should be mainly on the pennines. From early afternoon it should be to the west that gets most rain and staying away from 1700 hours onwards. & No this is not Neil Machins forecast!

This could well have changed come tonights & tomorrow mornings TV so keep your eyes & ears open.

Really hope it stays away, we don't want another year like last & I want to see some more quality racing at Owlerton.

Stead to card a 15 point haul and remind the Owlerton faithful of the Sean Wilson era.

Albin to ride the boards, lay the bike right down and give it everything he's got.

Koppe to put opposition reserves under pressure and keep them at bay.

Knight to have a go, but expect a fairly pedestrian meeting after last weeks hairy moments.

Hall to try and emualte Stead and smash opposition heat leaders to shreds, probably blow an engine or two in the process.

Wells to try and smile a bit more and look a little more interested, may turn up in Wolves kevlars.

Haines to shed a primary chain in his first ride, but will gain consistency in heats, a mid meeting Steady pep talk could inject some late heat blasts from him.

According to my calculations -

Sheffield 46

Leicester 44

So are we being optimistic that this meeting or being realistic that it will be rained off as i am making a long journey from the East to watch the match & i don't want a wasted journey if its looking like it will be off

Well live 20 minutes away from the track and we have no rain at the moment.it is due around 10 this morning but to be fair it don't look like its going to rain.

Great win for Sheffield! Especially with Haines having such a poor night. Seriously think we can do well this season it's a good team a couple of riders away from a great team.

Steady unlucky again not to get a max, Richard Hall carrying on his great start to the season absolutely untouchable, with good back up from Wells and Facu. Lets go win this competition now to shove it right in those doubters mouths

what a meeting, Albin was top drawer tonight, great signing, hall and steady did us proud too. SLight concerns remain over Koppe and Haines looked off it tonight, still think Wells could do a bit better but things are looking good thats for sure. #PleasedTigersFan

I thought last week I had noticed it and after this week I'm sure... atmosphere has returned to the terraces!

Great result for the mighty Tigers, we have a trio of heat leaders that can go out and do the business, a second string (Facu) who entertains, a second string (Haines) who we know can get better and Jake is starting to look like a decent reserve and will only get better, we just need to get Koppe firing (talking of which I noticed after the meeting that Stead was working with him and giving him some pointers) and we'll be a team to be reckoned with.

What a wasted 4 hour journey

Half hearted Lions performance & why did blackbird take 14 when he had only scored 1 point.

Sheffield were nothing special but were far better then title favorites Leicester.

Nieminen looked miles off the pace maybe he is past his prime while Doolan seemed more interested in racing Bjerre then trying to catch the rider in front.

Nielsen was steady but apart from heat 12 looked too shy to come off the inside.

Only people that seemed to want it was Karlsson he looked fast & it was a gating masterclass
