Ben Barker In Trouble With The Police

Recommended Posts

What does this have to do with anyone on here? Your local pork butcher, sunday school teacher or charity shop manager might have done the same thing...Would that be of any interest if they had?

If I read the British Speedway pork Butcher Forum or the British Sunday School Forum then I wouldn't be surprised to see such news. It's in the newspapers so why the outrage?

No outrage, It's just pathetic.....Next week's revelation will probably be "Chris Harris likes baked beans" or "Simon Stead stood next to someone in a motorway service centre gents".

Though of course Harris liking beans or Stead standing next to someone aren't criminal offences. I would say it's a pretty newsworthy item.

Just what the forum needs, another self appointed moderator to preside over us telling us what can and can't be discussed

I didn't say you couldn't, I just said it was a bit pathetic. That's my opinion and I'm allowed to give it, aren't I?

Personally, the off track antics of Ben Barker or indeed Darcy Ward are of no interest to me whatsoever.

There are dozens of threads on this forum that I think are pathetic/silly/of no interest etc. I simply dont post on them. It works for me

It is good to see Barker's unsavoury antics brought to light at last, he's gone unoticed in other high profile events, which have seen others dragged through the gutter (obviously couldn't buy himself out of this one)....

AND yes generally I do agree, its what they do on track that should count.

Named at last - Thats all i'll say on the matter.

So you thought you would waste your own time and clog up the forum by posting about something that you have no interest in... rather strange.

I hope you've emailed the newspaper who reported the offence, perhaps even got in touch with the court involved to let them know that it's pathetic and not worthy of attention.

He might also want to let the owner of the car know that crashing in to his car and then driving off shouldnt be a crime either.

A crime is a crime, speedway rider or not. X

Doesn't it say it all about someone.....the title is pretty damn clear. It is obviously(ha ha) a topic of no interest to this poster.....but still they have to have a look.Someone must have forced them to open it up and read it all and then have to post ffs!!!! I guess i must be strange because when i see a topic like horse racing, cricket or many of the other topics of interest to others but of none to me,i just don't open them up !!!

He does look a bit like a Pork Chop and a bit of a mutten head for doing this. Then again he does not come across as the brightest spark when interviewed on the box does he.

He's a lovely lad though, always signs autographs for the kids....

Very good, did make me laugh.

As you say we don't know the details but given there is no mention of drugs or running from the police I would hazard a guess that it's not 'slightly worse'

He crashed his vehicle into another and failed to leave details or report the incident... You can bet the police were called so in theory, yes he did run from the police.

But just like the Ward incident, he is young and makes mistakes and quite frankly, as long as they entertain on track I couldnt careless what they do off it.

Middleditch was right about some youngsters of today clearly...

Why? Both have been incredibly silly, both broken the law and both brought a bad name upon the sport however I fail to see how Barkers crime is no less serious than Wards?

Crashing a car, knowing youve done wrong and leaving the scene without leaving any details whatsoever is a very serious offence hence his ban from driving and a fine.

Both have been careless, silly and inappropriate but saying Barkers crime isnt as bad as Wards is wrong.
