Leicester V Scunthorpe Sat 6th April 7.30pm Plus Track & Toilet Debates

Recommended Posts

It was a joke Tina. Irony and all that. much as the same way, to be brutally honest, i wasn't really interested how Nick Mallett got on

'the cult of personality' Montie. In Leicester's case it's the 'cult of personalities'. I fear they cannot see the irritation it causes to anyone not in the 'cliquey club'.

as i put earlier. A question for Methanol fans, I do wonder what Popple is doing back out presenting. He appears to have changed nothing about his style whatsoever and i did wonder if he was giving all his and Darcy's detractors another one of his 'up yours' tonight by reverting right back to cartchphrase type and also mentioning the 'Dave Darcy' stand to death. I think he'd be far wiser to realise the opinion most people have on both and to adjust his pitch to suit.

you only have to look at the way they try and control fans views on the LSSC Facebook site to understand where they come from.

It's something that unfortunately apprears to pervade our club for some reason.

Mick.

Nobody seems to comment on this good point ?

Really sad the idiots couldnt run straight through the main match and got straight on with the second half and done all the chit chat to those who wanted to listen to it after the second half, I and many others go for the speedway and on such another very cold night I and many others left and missed races we wanted to see because we were so cold waiting around

How could you have seen the free programme at Sheffield if you have not been since 1983?

No disrespect to you "Spin King", but have you ever heard of Programme Collectors? It's just my preference that I enjoy a programme with plenty of reading content. Each to his/her own I suppose.

Enjoy your speedway

Sorry Robert, but as I remember. Sheffield is purely turn the taps on and go, As I remember.the only overtakes were by the Sheffield riders. Mind you, the last time I was there was in 1983. I don't suppose it has changed much from the videos I've

seen.

Quick comment on Sheffield's FREE programme. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Absolute rubbish.

seen

What would you want for nothing.

Sheffield may have a free race card, but, parking is £2.

Racing has improved slighty at Leicester turns 3 & 4 are starting to develope more lines. Having said that I find the track far to slick and they grade it to much.

the track slick ? I said that last week and glyn said he put 50 tons of shale on it ? not sure where it went, I still stand by saying the shape is all wrong, making it grippy could be a disaster and cause serious crashes.

DH should eat humble pie and get experts in and put it right now

What utter rubbish, two passes really all night...Howe on MK and Bjerre on MPT

Don't let facts get in the way will you!

If you say there were only 2 passes then you either didn't watch the meeting or are ignoring the plain to see evidence!

2 other examples are

Bjerre off bend 4 to take Auty in Heat 5

Niemenen off bend 4 to take Jorgensen in Heat 15

I've acknowledged last nights improvement but equally i fail to see how the best you can come up with is that bend 1 & 2 could still produce more. Or for that matter the first home meeting was anything but dreadful. Surely that's an 'agenda'. My 'agenda' is the following. I want to see decent racing and to feel the £1100 i've spent is money well spent, unlike last year, when i was mugged out of my money. Would you not agree with that?

If last Saturdays meeting with Sheffield was 'dreadful' then seeing as it was the joint 2nd best in terms of passing of the 4 meetings I've been to so far this season (same as Scunthorpe and better than Coventry) then perhaps it's about time that we just accepted the FACT that the vast majority of races at EVERY speedway track in the world are won by the rider who gates first (because if the best and fastest rider gates then he will win 99% of the time) and just savour the races where passes occur rather than picking fault even with the ones where passes do occur. :-)

They might have been the wrong type of passes though?

Didn't you hear Glyn say before the meeting in his interview on centre that track prepared Slicker on inside, grip on outside as that's how the riders wanted it? And it that's grip that produced some great passing by both teams riders and the big Leicester win and no "disaster" and no "serious crashes" in the Leicester v Scunthorpe match.

I am sure you wear the hemsley style glasses as the passing was down the straight where one rider was quicker than the other, did you not see a couple of races where riders were trying every way to pass but couldnt because the track didnt allow it as the shape is all wrong ?

As I said earlier, my first visit last night so totally impartial in the track debate. For me, last night there was a lot of close racing and there were 3-4 passes coming off the 4th bend but are there any other lines for riders to pass on or at least use? It seemed very much a one line in and out - miss the line and get passed or lose ground. Bjerre's pass on Toft was the result of great pressure leading to Toft going too wide - couldn't quite believe 'the best race ever' tag because if I heard that as a first timer I may not be attending again.

On the track. At Leicester. Last night. Or are you as dim as your posts suggest?

Obviously...to say there were many passes by both set of riders last night is utter beau locks...Howe made good one on MK, the young BJerre made beauty on Mpt....that was about it beyond the first bend

If I missed the many other,I must have had Marlboro discharge in my eyes,
