Bagpuss
Young Bates has looked an excellent prospect when I've seen him but has a touch of the 2008 Kozza about him, needs to calm down a bit and learn that to score points you need to stay on the bike. Hope he's ok.
Shrimmy
Could somebody please tell scunny riders that if they fall off they dont have to wait for the red light to come on before attempting to clear the track. Seem to remember a young mr knight having the same problems in ht 8 on thursday night !!
phillwhitewasmad
We won by 10, you won by 12. Take away the additional 3 points you got from tactical rides (something we didn't need to resort to) and we would have won by 13. I would probably say honours even on this occasion. Could somebody please tell scunny riders that if they fall off they dont have to wait for the red light to come on before attempting to clear the track. Ah the old you wouldn't have won if you hadn't used a tactical debate well that's the rules fair or not you have to live with them
spin king
I think we need to be a bit careful about claiming riders staying down and get the race stopped, although I did get the feeling on Thursday that some of the Scunthorpe riders were doing it quite often. But only the riders themselves know whether they can clear the track and I sometimes think as fans we expect riders to do this when they might not be able to do for one reason or another and they do tend to balance themselves out over the season. Over the two meetings I guess Scunthorpe fans will try and claim the bragging rights, but I really think that they need to take a look in the mirror . They were very poor at Sheffield, Auty and Howe were poor and had to use 2 tactical's where as Sheffield because they kept the meeting tight throughout the meeting never used a tactical, and went into the last race with a chance of taking something from the meeting not something that Scunthorpe can claim. End of the day I am happy with my teams performance over the two meeting, and I think we can surprise a few teams this season on how competitive the Sheffield team will be. .
Shale Shaker
It's good to see the whole Sheffield 1-7 chipping in and scoring points home and away. I too think that we will surprise a few teams this season. It's good to see that the pessimissm shown by many over the Sheffield team building is proving to be unfounded. graz gp
Still early doors yet to make a proper judgement on the team, but looking very promising. Riders need to sort bike problems out loosing vital points. Imo the team will only get better once everything settles down. I think we have had some bad luck, and dodgey ref decisions. Cue Ball
Ah the old you wouldn't have won if you hadn't used a tactical debate well that's the rules fair or not you have to live with them Not what I said at all. I actually said honours even if you read my post. I was merely responding to the post saying scunny had bragging rights and trying to point out that in reality they were no better than us. Shrimmy
where as Sheffield because they kept the meeting tight throughout the meeting never used a tactical I should think so too spinnie,on one of the fairest tracks in speedway !! dirtdodger
well i was critical of the scorpions performance at sheffield, so only fair to say i thought last nights performance was much more like it!good contribution from howe and jorgy, nice to see auty take control of heat 15 not sure about the ref's decision to exclude hall though, all 4 back would have been my choice, that said simon steads e/f ment that scunthorpe kept all 3 points anyway.
