PAWEL wrote ... I guess he wants to race in next GP people are pissed at Rzeszow thou it just shows you where his priorities are. Seems like an unnecessary dig at Nicki to me. I had a first hand look at his hand at the post GP Press Conference last night and it was a mess.

Not so Phil! Pawel has as much right to question the commitment of Nicki Pedersen as any paying customer. It's his team and he has a right to ask WHY if Nicki's hand was so bad he didn't think to allow his team(s) the opportunity to use rider replacement for him.

If this means that he would NOT be allowed to compete in the next GP and he thought he had a fighting chance to appear then it does indeed show what pawel said has some truth to it.

If he is too badly hurt to appear in the next GP then his teams and their supporters have every right to be annoyed.

I like Nicki but if he did that to my team I would be bloody angry.

It is understandable as he has a very good chance of winning the GP this year but it is also understandable that the teams he leaves hamstrung by his actions would be rather miffed. :)

I have to come to Pawel's defence, Rzeszow being his home town, along with Pandorum, on this issue. My admiration for all speedway riders and their courage is total, but i do think that Nicki could have thought of his team- who i hazard a guess are his main paymasters, and come down off the proverbial fence and let them sort the situation out. I hope he is back soonest for everyones sake. Regards. Alan.

Pawel and i are "speedway buddies" and correspond regularly. I don't think i am betraying any confidences by sharing what he has just said to me regarding the Nicki subject and Polish speedway in general. I think our friend, respected scribe Phillip Rising might find this of interest from someone who cares passionately about the sport. As always on this friendly international section i marvel at the quality of the (second) language English compared to my (non-existent) Polish, Swedish.... you name it.

The thing about Nicki is it is sometimes difficult for me to convey what polish fans are saying but like I said he is very selfish I spend lot of time on polish forums and lots of fans from other teams were basically laughing at Rzeszow saying that were told you so he will never change he was like that with us money only never team riding or showing any affiliation with your team that is one of the reasons why lots of fans in Poland are turning away from speedway years back it was the same riders for many years involved in community staying with team even thou they may have had better offers now it is called "foreign army" and fans are put up by that

Regards to all. Alan.

8 min video from div 2 Opole v Wanda Krakow http://www.sportowef...da-krakow-wideo

Now that's what i call "real speedway". Not a run-down stadium, but certainly not a "flash palace". Fantastically enthusiastic fans, super start girls (why do the UK ones always look so bored ? Just march out, stand there chewing gum and can't wait to get off  ). I noted the local sponsors given great publicity at the beginning and the end, the riders interacting with the fans afterwards. You get the feeling that Jesper B. Monberg really has embraced this community. i know things aren't perfect, even in Poland, but compared to the UK "death spiral" it's not hard to see why! And then last night i read that Birmingham have stopped BBC local radio covering their home meetings, because they claim it's keeping fans at home!!!!!! In the immortal words of John McEnroe " You cannot be serious" . I'm rambling here, it's early morning and i need a second cup of coffee! :drink: Thank you, i REALLY enjoyed that and join you on Sunday, :t: Alan.

What has happened with Gaschka at Rzeszow? Is he still there or farmed/kicked out?Was surprised he got in the team in the first place.Saw his younger brother riding the other week.Guess if he shows any promise when he gets older(he is showing promise at this stage)he will also take the step over to Poland. Was also a youngster of about 7 with a Bydgoszcz jacket riding haha

It would happen wouldn't it? All set to go with my new set up and it rains  Mother's Day here (and in Canada too, Pawel ?) so not sure I can make the second meeting. We leave for the UK on Tuesday evening, so I wish all you people good ,safe racing and I hope to see some of you at Peterborough and Coventry on Mon. 27th. Fingers crossed for the second meeting for all of you. Best wishes. Alan.
