Roger Jacobs
It is funny how times change. It seems like only yesterday when Ipswich fell from the EL and moaned like hell about the lack of racing after their first visit to Rye House. Now we have four of the best young racing talents in the country coming through at Rye and a track that I suspect will be prepared to display their talents . If I was an Ipswich fan I would come tomorrow just to see some decent racing. It will be a long season for them. Blimey, just one match and we get an astonishing blast of sanctimonious trolling squit from a Dry Hose fan .
Shadders
Thinking of taking my 86 year old aunt to her first meeting in nearly 50urs today. Is there an indoor area at rye house stadium for her to watch as its a bit cold to be standing outside ? There is the bar on the 4th bend, but I'm not sure how well you'll be able to see bends 1 & 2 from there. *edit* Just been informed that there is no way of seeing bends 1 & 2 from the bar. What do I know? Only been going to Rye House since 1985! Edited April 1, 2013 by Shadders

bolly
Good views from upstairs bar seating. But steep steps to get to bar area.
Shadders
Good views from upstairs bar seating. But steep steps to get to bar area. Good shout Bolly... I assumed it was only for private functions... During the RR years the riders wives and girlfriends used to base themselves there during the meetings Edited April 1, 2013 by Shadders

Bryn
Glad a texter has been found. Was hoping to get there myself and would have volunteered despite my mangled mitts if a texter hadn't have been found. Alas it hasn't proved possible for me to get there so will rely on the excellent updates site Sue organises. Hope it's a good meeting with no injuries and great racing and that those there don't get too cold!
Travertine
........................ If I was an Ipswich fan I would come tomorrow just to see some decent racing. It will be a long season for them. Surely that's a good thing? It means they've qualified for the play-offs and/or one or two juicy cup finals! I understand there are a lot of riders WALKING the track Truly hope that Jason and Jari are ok, and the trip to hospital is just precautionary. Our injury blight at Dry Hose seems to continue
Phil Silvers
Having to wait for the county ambulance to take Jason to hospital and wait for it to get back has meant that half of the spectators are leaving the stadium including me (nearly an hour and no sign of it returning). Whilst I wish Jason and jari well this situation is not going to help the struggling sport of speedway. Also a mention on the track. Terrible state and was dry and dusty even after the wet winter we have had.

Riders falling and making mistakes left, right and centre. Taxi for Rockets. Edited April 1, 2013 by Mr Blobby
Travertine
Another visit to the track for the ambulance, and it's now taken three hours to complete 11 heats. Is the track really that bad?

Pinny
Three and a half hours to get a meeting finished? Shambolic. Ipswich need to get shot of Makinen, total garbage and hasnt beaten an opponent yet. Mellgren, Garrity and Nelson looking quality for the Rockets whilst Allen is capable of a lot more. Shadders
We left before the heat 12 rerun, convinced of another long delay and possible abandonment. Not really bothered about missing the last 4 heats. By then we'd both had enough of the bitterly cold conditions. Racing was pretty good on a difficult track. Leigh Lanham was up in the referee's box during one of the enforced breaks complaining about the state of the track surface, can't say I blame him. Looked like marbles on the 4th bend and riders were also having problems on the exit of bend 2. Don't think the track was to blame for any of the injuries though.
