Bonus Points In Premier League

Recommended Posts

And their stance is too be applauded . Any new ruling should be for the benefit of the sport , this clearly is not .

But it's stupid. If last you 10% of your points were bonus points all you'll do is ask for a 10% pay rise to make up for it. The riders are not stupid.

but you have had a pay cap installed as well in pl, so everyone will be paid in relation within the team.

and dont forget riders in pl are paying for their own tyres as well this year, but still dont have freedom of choice on which they use.

It's not a rule.

yes there are rules in pl this year a cap off £55 pp and no bp if in 3rd unless on tac, wether clubs get around it is up to them , but theses rules were brought in for 2013 and if clubs are found out to be breaking the rules they will be fined.

got to love it when the know-alls are proved wrong

Glad to have brought a bit of cheer into your drab existance...

Even more confusing-- taken from the BSPA RULE BOOK 2013- or does each league have it's own rule book.

Bonus Point

Aditional point given to aRiderin a team event when finishing immediately behind his team

-

mate when in 2nd or 3rd position

BSPA

British

Speedway Promoters' Association

15.9.3

In a Team Competition, a Rider shall be awarded a BonusPoint if s /he finishes in 2nd or 3rd place immediately behind his /her partner, this shall not count towards the Meeting score.

Nothing in the rule book about riders not being paid for 'bonus points'!

If it's not if the rule book, it ain't a rule. A guidence, an instruction, a directive or a policy it may be. But not a rule. Nor is it a Regulation.

It's just a new rule for this year , and only for the PL , and it only affects riders finishing third behind a team mate unless they are on a t/r

This year - as covered by the 2013 Regulations. So, not a Regulation.

Yes only been a fan for for 43 yrs and I now don't understand the Bonus Point situation in terms of fillng in the programme, average implications etc.

Pretty sure you're not going to grasp it then, after 43 years.

Maybe because someone accused Sheffield of making the rule, when it clear that the majority of the promotions agreed to it else it wouldn't be in place

Given some of the utter crap spouted at times on various threads Id hardly say that claiming a particular promotion proposed a rule change warrants such a reaction.

Hello walnut meet sledgehammer springs to mind!

No one has answered my question, how do we correctly fill in the programme? So I'm obviously not the only one confused!

All bonus points from whichever position are recorded in the programme as they still count towards the calculations fir heat 15 elligibility even those for 3rd place that wont be paid (by some)

It's always nice to know you've struck a nerve when legal action is mentioned. This is clearly not a universally popular ruling and maybe we should start taking bets on when it collapses completely. It was a poor decision which fails to get to grips with the biggest financial problems facing the sport - rider expenses and low crowds. You might as well use a Bandaid to mend a broken leg.
