Cardiff 2013 5pm Start

Recommended Posts

Thinking of going down on the train this year and coming back after the meeting. Moving the start time really helps, as the last train from Cardiff Central to Birmingham New Street is 20:50. Theres one before it at 8pm, that I could catch if I leave early, the stadium is fairly close to the station so that is possible.

Last direct train to london is at 20.25 so should help those travelling that way greatly

I am going for the first time and travelling by car. I notice there is a park and ride system in operation. Is there plenty of room in these parks, do you have to wait long for buses and also what would be the latest time to arrive as i am disabled and can't hang around too long, any sensible answer would be greatly appreciated.

How about trying to park at the stadium http://www.millenniumstadium.com/disabled/

Shame-how about the ncp car park in westgate street which has 4 disabled bays.

thanks for that, but the close proximity to the stadium would mean it is likely to fill up early in the day, and unfortunately due to various problems I have I can't really arrive much before 14.00, which is why i was looking at the park and ride system.

Park & rides generally have plenty of places & you don't need to wait too long for buses. They run from early in the morning right through the day so time not an issue. They drop you off a little way from the stadium however so that may be a problem.

Also park-and-ride at County Hall was very poorly lit last year, elderly guy with walking stick had problems. 10 quid to park, and fair way from stadium.

TBF, that is generally the idea of park and ride.

Have used this car park for a number of years now and find it very convenient. It is close enough to walk to/from the stadium if you want to (about 20-30 minutes depending on physical ability) but far enough away from the city centre and on the right side to be able to get away after the meeting without too much trouble. I think it was only about £5 when it first started but dont forget it includes bus travel for all of the passengers in your car.
