CardinalSin
A little early but it's been a long LONG winter. No challenge warm up this year so straight in to a competitive League Cup fixture. All sorts of goodies for the kids including face painting, bouncy castle and an Easter egg hunt. Kids go free with a paying adult too. All details here http://www.ipswichwitches.co/index.php/news-centre/602-season-starts-on-good-friday Not sure on the rider order for Rye, but we now know the Witches will line up as follows 1 Barker 2 Makinen 3 Tungate 4 Risager 5 Lanham 6 Ellis 7 Heeps Very much looking forward to getting under way so fingers crossed for some decent weather! Any Rye supporters planning on making the trip? Predictions for the meeting?
hackneyrocket
I think it will be a close run meeting with Ipswich ending slightly ahead All I hope is that everyone comes through this unscathed and we don't have a repeat of last years meeting.
dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
A comfotable Witches win for me - 53-39ish. That said you never know with a season opener!
Shadders
I'll definitely be there... Hope its warmer than the Ben Fund meeting at Berwick. Edited March 17, 2013 by Shadders
BluPanther
Forecast for easter is colder than average and unsettled...not looking too good im afraid. Lets hope they are wrong. Should be a comfy home win on good friday i would have thought. Edited March 17, 2013 by blupanther
aljack
With no challenge meeting before this opener against Rye its not easy to predict what will happen as riders get their bikes set up to adapt to track conditions on an afternoon meeting. The weather will be a huge factor as the forecast is not good for Easter but having said that in my opinion Rye are not one of the strongest teams and anything less than 3 points for the Witches will be a huge disappointment. Bandits4eva
Even as a Bandit fan I obviously take some interest in Rye due to the other half supporting them .. I personally think a lot of people are underestimating Rye... If they all click they will surprise quite a few people for sure... Would say a 6-8 point win for Ippo in this one.
Awaiting humorous username
Since when do we take a weather forecast as gospel for 12 hours from now, let alone 12 days?
Super Blue
If it predicts rain on a speedway day it's probably going to be right ! Any other day and it's bound to be wrong .

BluPanther
Allen and Bunyan look a strong pairing, keep them quiet and it should be a comfy home win.

Barker will have to be on top form. I'd expect Lanham to have the measure of Nelson though and the reserve battles look very interesting. Very much looking forward to this. Lets just hope this white stuff disappears and plenty of time is available for track preparation ! The weather forecast for Good Friday is changing on a daily basis but one factor remains constant , Its gonna be bloody cold !

Super Blue
Does anyone know what the track situation is currently like at Foxhall and our chances of actually getting some speedway tomorrow ?
Roger Jacobs
Does anyone know what the track situation is currently like at Foxhall and our chances of actually getting some speedway tomorrow ? Mike Bacon posted this on Twitter yesterday: Mike Bacon @Mike_Bacon 27 Mar "Spoke to Chris Louis today and he's confident. I see no reason why not, no more snow is forecast. I would say 95% all go". dontforgetthefueltapsbruv
Presumably the real threat is a deep frost overnight. Fingers crossed.
