We do not have anyone with that level of respect from riders, knowedge of the Sport or proven success (given the riders available to him) Off the top of my head, Wizzer, Loram, Havvy, Garry Stead are all ex riders who would do just as well - given the riders available to them. Starman2006 - don't let the keyboard warriors grind you down, if only they all knew middlo the way you know middlo! He's told people he was misquoted, but nooo that's not enough for some, what a cheek expecting him to explain exactly what he said/meant! Bruiser McHuge Posted February 26, 2013 Report Share Posted February 26, 2013 i would say there is not one person on here or in speedway that doesn't admit Darcy Ward is a fantastic speedway rider..i would go as far to say as the best natural talent i have seen since Collins and Lee..and the only rider that i would go out of way to watch on TV or even go to see live...i would really be looking forward to seeing him in the GP's ( if i was able to watch them ! However you cannot defend him at times as an individual off the track however much you admire his skill on it....this is the latest of numerous incidents and he is not a kid...i do worry for the future of him unless he dramatically changes as he doesn't seem to learn. Maybe being in and round the GP set up will mature him...i certainly hope so as potentially there is no limit to what he could achieve although he does come across as an immature fool on TV regardless of the outside incidents. as for Neil Middleditch...i've met him a few times years ago and he seems a nice bloke but his comments are undefendable and certainly would not have been made up by a local paper for sure...he probably regretted saying them as soon as he had said them but the fact he said them in the first place is a disgrace really and an insult to a lot of youngsters today. He continues to give Scott Nicholls a joker (in his own ride) in the SWC every year despite everyone knowing it should be used on your best rider in another heat other than his own and that Scott Nicholls fails on the joker every year. He doesn't understand the TR rules and when asked about Pooles new signing Denis Andersen on Sky a few years ago he said he knew nothing about him. He's a terrible team manager and seeminly a it of a wally of a person too if he things all kids are pissed up drugged up police evaders. I often debate and discuss on here, with most. But you constantly get digs in at people. I don't know Darcy Ward but I know he's a great speedway rider. I don't know Chris Harris but I know he's an entertaining 8 point EL rider. I don't know Bill Gates but he's a very clever successful man. I don't know Lance Armstrong but he's a very clever sophisticated drugs cheat. I didn't basically say he was an idiot, I said he was a wally if he thought all young people get drunk, take drugs and evade the police on unregistered motorbikes. I have also given critical examples of his work, what do you not agree with? That Poole didn't have the best teams in 2010 and 2012? Well the league suggests they did. That Scott Nicholls as a joker is futile? Well look at the number of 0's next to his name when on a joker. That the joker should be played in someone else heat not the riders own? Well look at it this way, you use the rider as ajoker in his own heat and he scores 6, in the next heat your worst rider scores 0. Total gain? 3. No leave the rider in his heat as normal, he scores 3, then replace your worst rider with him in the next heat as a joker and he scores 6, total gain? 7. Your 6 plus one less for your opponents. So come on, argue them points, ignore who has made them, point out what is wrong with them. As for Smoli, I said he was a poor signing as he'd struggle to get 5 and would just about get ti if he had a spell in reserve, his average? 5.05 and he had a spell in reserve. I was right, you said I would be wrong. Your reason for saying I'd be wrong? One example that springs to mind was KK at Cov in the KO cup last year. 1st 2 rides 1,1+1 and having a bit of a mare. Middlo took him to one side and had a chat and his next 3 rides were3,1+1,3.
