Dave_minall
Just let the lad enjoy his youth whilst he can. Role model or not. Michael Lee was just as bad if not worse and he was in the UK national press all the time. This happens. Just get off his case and enjoy watching him ride whilst he's still in his prime. TesarRacing
How would younger fans know of his drinking habits? They're in bed! Moot point IMO. Because you keep making posts such as this in the middle of the morning!! Doesn't strike me as a guy who could do much damage! He's not very big. He's got a nasty nip though!!! BWitcher
Correct, Michael Lee was just as bad, that is the whole point. Folk don't want Ward to end up like Michael Lee and throw his career away! The absolute best thing anyone who 'hates' Ward can do is just.. Let him get on with it.
Dave_minall
Well if I'm honest, 'folk' won't make the blindest bit of difference posting what they think of Darcy's downtime performances, so what is the point. If he's going to continue enjoying his youth like everyone should, then he's going to do that.
stevebrum
Once again, it isn't. You will see 'some' people pissing in doorways, fighting and getting thrown out of clubs.. and you will see hundreds/thousands of others having a good night out who don't get thrown out of clubs/pubs. If you think that is 'normal' behaviour it says more about you than anything else. Disorderly behaviour, urinating in the street... that IS breaking the law. What you fail to realise is, if there happened to be any police around at the time of the incident who took it the wrong way he could quite easily find himself being charged YET AGAIN. Despite a number of warnings, scrapes with the law he continues to put himselves in positions where things can go very wrong. That is foolish. Again, I refer to the words of Matt Ford after his previous incident in Australia. Perhaps he is a Darcy hater too? It most certainly does. Vince
I thought the most shocking thing was that Holder and Batchelor were out partying together, for some reason I had it in my head that they hated each other although not sure why I thought that. Dave_minall
Some of you fail to realise that this is what the youth of today are like. I'm 25 and I went out last weekend and got drunk out of my tree on friday, saturday and sunday, despite having work monday morning. Are you all going to have a go at me because of it? Just because Darcy is in the public eye doesn't mean he is denied his rights to live his life how he wants to. He's just a target for the media, given his track record (no pun intended)

He's just a target for the media, given his track record (no pun intended) Well, it depends whether you followed up getting drunk with the rest of the antics the Aussies lads are reported to have. It makes a difference that it's professional sportsmen though and I reiterate that if it were high profile footballers caught peeing in the street in this country it would be all over the press and they would face action for it. It's not just this incident though. The difference for Ward is that it's the latest in a long line of incidents that he's been involved in. The fact is that unless someone steps in it's going to go very horribly wrong one day and his career will be down the pan, and perhaps his personal life too given some of the things he's been involved in. Whatever anyone thinks of him off track most people acknowledge his ability on track and don't want to see natural ability flushed down the pan. Another Aussie was boasting the other day, seemingly proud, of the fact that he'd been repeatedly black flagged and ultimately banned for life from a go-kart centre in a matter of minutes. I doubt he was recognised by anyone but putting it out there in the public domain was a bit silly. I'm not anit-Aussie before I'm accused of that. Crump (though I didn't much like him as a rider), Adams and Sullivan, to name but three high profile riders didn't hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.

He's just a target for the media, given his track record (no pun intended) If you were the representative of my company I would, I also would if I were your boss and your drinking/partying would affect your performance at work. Darcy and Chris are both representatives of both the speedway sport itself and their teams and sponsors. The least you could ask for is some professional behaviour and for them to stay out of legal trouble. How would you feel if you were a boss and some of our employees would keep embarrass you, your business and themselves over and over again. For someone who has the profession of driving fast motorcycles around a narrow dirt track with three others, I don't think partying/heavy drinking is a suitable activity. What if he/any other rider (again) got himself injured prior to a meeting and your team lost because of that. Would you still considered it to be a "no story"? And where would you draw the limit for what is acceptable and not acceptable?
SCB
And where would you draw the limit for what is acceptable and not acceptable? When it doesn't effect your ability to do you job and doesn't cause harm to anyone else it's acceptable. Darcy, Chris and Troy will still be able to race speedway this week. Nobody was hurt or injured as far as we're aware so it doesn't matter.
Gavan
For those of you who think its ok for anybody to get drunk in a bar or club to a point that they get thrown out or fighting then i suggest you live in a different culture to myself as i find it appalling behaviour and if my son was involved i would be extremely disappointed. Now moving on to the fact that these were professional sportsmen make it all the more wrong. Between March and October these guys need to be on top form both physically and mentally is that to much to ask? Yet again its the young aussies involved. batchelor i can understand as he always been a bit of a pillock but Holder i thought had grown up and moved on. he is World Champion he needs to set an example. could never see Hans or Rickardsson and the like behaving like this. Darcy is Darcy. He will probably fritter away his career as he gets caught up in everything all the time. he wasnt to blame in this instance but yet again he was there. Its ok though because they are young !!!!!!!!!
Pinny
If this was hancock, hampel and crump nothing would be said . If it was that serious, ward would of been locked up. Police in poland are a lot stricter than here and would lock him up if he was that bad. He hasnt been arrested so as usual the media blow it out of proportion. I am a regular on the british club scene i go out every weekend and see people pissing all overthe place, ive even seen a girl hiding behind a taxi pissing in bristol whilst four coppers stand there laughing, ive seen mass brawls involving half of newport, ive seen bouncers getting smashed with bats in newquay, i see all sorts every weekend and what ward has been accused of doing amounts to sod all, unless you people go out and see what the vast majority of people behave like in nightclubs these days then i cant take your posts seriously. And thats not being sarcastic either, im being serious Town and city centres in the uk these days are absolute carnage

Ward wasnt really involved this time but yet again his name is there linked in. he needs someone to grab hold of him and quick otherwise he could throw his whole career away. Holder i thought would have known better Batchelor is a clown full stop. If you think that because this 'stuff goes on in city centres' means we should accept it then i feel that is the wrong attitude.

That's life.
