Igor
February 16, 2013 in a hospital in Ufa died Gennady Kurylenko. Here's an article about it today at Nikolay Ermolenko on Speedway forum (Russia): http://forum.speedway.ru/index.php/topic/14083-%d1%83%d1%88%d0%b5%d0%bb-%d0%b3%d0%b5%d0%bd%d0%bd%d0%b0%d0%b4%d0%b8%d0%b9-%d0%ba%d1%83%d1%80%d0%b8%d0%bb%d0%b5%d0%bd%d0%ba%d0%be-%d0%b5%d1%89%d0%b5-%d0%be%d0%b4%d0%b8%d0%bd-%d0%b8%d0%b7-%d0%b2%d0%b5%d0%bb%d0%b8%d1%87%d0%b0%d0%b9%d1%88%d0%b8%d1%85/page__pid__822692?do=findComment&comment=822692

Wessex Wanderer
Very sad news. Very good international class rider. Like most of the other 25,000 at Wembley in 1964 I will never forget that incredible meeting when Gennady and Gab Kadirov formed an all action third pairing for the Russians. Standing there with everybody chanting "we want the Russians" after the meeting is an indelible memory. RIP Gennady
2ndBender
Very sad news. Very good international class rider. Standing there with everybody chanting "we want the Russians" after the meeting is an indelible memory. RIP Gennady I have similar memories from the test match at Somerton Park, Newport, in 1965. Gennady and the great Igor Plechanov broke, and equalled the track record about four or five times! (I can check the programme). And that was on a track which neither of them had ever seen before, and which many British riders considered 'difficult'! Great memories! RIP Gennady.
