Apologies if this subject has been covered elsewhere.

Does anyone have details of the admissions policy for this years event at Paradise Wildlife Park? Previous events have been free admission for those visiting the museum, but I've no idea what the deal is this time. Anyone know?

I know it's a bit late now considering it's tomorrow, I emailed PWP to ask if there was any way that I could have an advert as I can't get a copy of Speedway Star in my town, they said I could print this off and still gain entry, I hope this also helps those who could not get a copy of the Speedway Star:

Well done to The Peterborough promotion, who were surprisingly the only team who had a stand at the show. I would have thought that more teams would have been represented.

Can't believe Rye House weren't represented. As the closest track to the park you'd have thought they'd jump at the chance to hand out leaflets, even free admission tickets to the first home meeting. Cue more Shadders is always moaning newspaper rants from Silver.

I went along to Paradise Park this morning, was good to see Simmo there.

Very disappointing response from other promotions. They all moan about dwindling attendance etc. but appear to reluctant to do anything about it and I find it particularly unbelievable there not to have been any input from Rye House.

Agree with your comments, It was an opportunity lost for the closest club.

Not one for backing promoters in the face of criticism, but, and this is just an honest question, wouldn't this be seen as preaching to the converted?I would have thought this is a very special event only attended by die-hard speedway fans?

Plenty of families visiting the wildlife park that could've been potential speedway converts. That's who promoters should be targeting.

Hi

We didnt have a stand at the Celebration of Speedway although I was there throughout the day, wearing our new Kent Kings coat, and was interviewed in the Marquee and also by the production company that were there, about our new venture.

It was great to see so many people come over and introduce themselves and put faces to names, and also so meet many new people who were so pleased to see that we are running.

Also managed to hand out over 250 of our new business card/flyers.

Hope that clarifies the situation.

Regards

Nikko

The original post was about clubs having a "stand at the show" and i don't think your post implied anything else.So as i say or ask would a stand from other clubs do anything other than preach to the converted? As for handing out leaflets at zoos and fun fairs and other big attractions that is surely a good idea which i agree with

Having attended last year as a spectator we were over the moon at being able to participate this year. Our Ride n Slide Dayz stand was busy all day and even had visits from several people that had the RnS Dayz experience with us last year, all looking forward to joining us again this season. We were blown away by the interest and have to say a massive thanks to Elaine and Mac for all their help, they do an amazing job keeping the museum going and thoroughly deserve some recognition.

Considering the old saying of "no publicity is bad publicity" you would certainly think that it's a great opportunity for Clubs to get themselves 'out there' and build some relationships with their public and maybe pick up some new fans along the way !

It's all because Luke Bowen isn't riding this year, he was the only rider from Rye House to bother to turn up last year, no one else is local enough to do it.

Overall, it wasn't as good as previous years, was good to see the Formula Two Speedway bikes, but I can't really see them taking off (it was a bit strange to see that not only Honda are involved, but BMW and Kawasaki have made a few prototypes too).

Anyway, here is my photo album of the day…
