mythman666
Hello Folks, I have written a short 4 page magazine / fanzine called "The Old Tac Sub" which basically looks at the more ridiculous side of speedway and is just designed as a bit of fun. The plan is to maybe do 4 issues over the course of the season, depending on interest and demand. So I am planning on shipping some out in order to see how much interest there is for it. If you would like a copy, please email me at mythman666@hotmail.com or message me on the forum Any feedback would be much appreciated Many Thanks James Edited February 10, 2013 by mythman666
Bryn
Good luck with that - reminds me of the days of both the Kestrel News and Dons Digest.
SteveLyric2
Isn't a 'podcast' or simlar a bit more up to date for the younger fans!! A bit like the 'Piratecast' boys are doing at Poole. www.ThePirateCast.com Its free to listen/download and fans can interact by skype, voicemails, texts, emails etc.

I don't even know what a 'Podcast' is. Anything to do with peas?

The White Knight
one of these days I'll buzz over from Whitley Bay and give you some IT lessons. Sounds good. But beware - as far as Computers are concerned - I'm very dense. :)

Unfortunately - and meaning no disrespect - thats partly why young fans aren't being attracted to the sport!!

young bullin
Ive had a read of it and i thought it was brilliant. Alot of work goes into something like that and some people dont realise that like. This 'podcast' would be no good as u wouldnt get the full affect. The 'podcast' would be good for the younger ones but this is for everyone not just young ones. Gid reading and i recommend you read it. Conkers in Gravy
Unfortunately - and meaning no disrespect - thats partly why young fans aren't being attracted to the sport!! Are you suggesting that if White Knight goes on a computer course we can sit back and watch the queues form at speedway turnstiles?

An excellently illustrative demonstration of the sheer communicative power of the written word, and why you're such a proponent of the medium. I hope it's prepared with a propped duplicating machine - speedway needs more purple fuzzy printing & vaguely smelling publications. It's the way forward for speedway! Goldmember06
Once again the fun police have hijacked a thread on the Bsf and they've brought the grammar cops with them! It's pathetic, mythman started a thread to say he'd written a short fanzine and that it was a bit of fun. It isn't good enough that the guy has made an effort to make a speedway themed fanzine but because its not a 'podcast' the younger generation won't buy in to it. Then somebody replies and states they are a young fan and woah the grammar ain't brilliant. Shocking Awaits the Backless backlash

Shocking Awaits the Backless backlash Touch of understatement I would say. There is a world of difference between the odd bit of dodgy punctuation or a spelling error or two, and posts that literally need translating because they are so poorly constructed. It is a sad indictment of society that someone posts in that manner Edited February 11, 2013 by oldace
