Not on Thursday nights it's not, the lights flicker violently on and off - they crackle and buzz so very loudly and the vast insect population scatters every which way at once...but mostly in your very vulnerable direction...

Perhaps they've done 'em up for the new season. Should be incorporated in any new stadium development IMO as a listed monument. Didnt have time to check bog roll tog rating.

Now in the line up Keef, but no Stead, which is a dissapointment

Pretty disgraceful that Steady is not included. Methinks there has been a falling out. I have a theory......Steady was more popular with the fans than Rosco and after a clash of egos Simon had to go-it was done very poorly as far as I can see.

They havent included this year's reserves Gomoslki and Birks, and Stead was down to reserve last October. Dont buy your conspiracy theory of more popular than Rosco at all. Rosco knows if all his riders are popular the team is doing well.

Would have been nice to see him but ot would not have added to the quality of the field in all honesty.

Thought Steady would have been there, at least as part of the trophy winning team, taking the fans applause for last seasons achievement. very popular rider at The Abbey. Hopefully will be a good crowd turn-out as last seasons attendances were in the main disappointing.

Probably the smallest crowd I.ve been in at Blunsdon, to honour the legendary Kilbs. You have to fear for the future of the sport at this rate, on a freezing cold evening. 20 quid to get in, 3 quid for a prog, and 1.50 to park. You dont pay to park at dog racing or market.Wont attract many newbies to the sport.

What happened to those trophy celebrations?, and where's the stalls that sold speedway stars, and programmes. Replaced by a sweets stall!. The club shop had limited souvenirs for sale.Zero atmosphere. Disappointing evening all-round IMO. Andersen unlucky to lose out after being top scorer, but congrats to Iversen. Rest of Robins were fairly poor. The track looked in good nick, and good to see the Kilby family enjoying themselves. Hope the meeting continues to run, the strong line-up should have attracted more people.

Disappointing to hear the attendance was low, but when you consider the admission costs you can understand why. Charging for kids to get in is disgraceful .

Work unfortunately kept me away. Sorry to hear it didn't sound like a great night. I hate to say it but Speedway is on its uppers if this field can't attract a good attendance.

Unfortunately it does rather look like the Club is in some difficulty if its having to start charging for kids.

I didn't think the crowd was too bad considering the weather. e were a lot of travelling fans but quite a few regular faces missing from where I normally stand.

I wonder if having a cheapo meeting with say £9 entry would be a better way to get people back in the habit, rather than hitting them up for twenty quid on the first meeting of the season?

Overall it was a good night though, but flipping cold.
