Excellent news that the GP / SWC are on Eurosport, :t:

(Sorry going off subject a little)

I cancelled my sky sports package in October but will be renew soon to get the EL coverage. But I’m not renewing until after the Melbourne F1 GP don’t won’t them thinking I’m renew for the F1 Borefest. F1 was exciting when I was about 12 years old, but now 2 hours of watching cars whizzing around a track waiting to see which ones will breakdown, doesn’t do it for me. (Note to some F1 teams if going to spend millions on a car at least try to make one that can do 200 miles before spluttering to a stop, my 12 old citroen saxo can make 200 miles no problem.) :t:

Just been looking at the times for Speedway on Eurosport , and they are as follows :- Live NZ SGP Sat 23RD 3.00am on E1... Sat 23RD 10.30am Replay on E2... Sat 23RD 21.00 highlights on E1..Sun 24th 17.00 highlights on E1...Mon 25th 11.30 highlights on E2 . Mon 25th 15.30 highlights on E2. Replays are 3hours , and highlights two hours, E1 and E2 being the eurosport HD channels, does not seem bad coverage, am now wondering who will present it???

Glad it's not only me who thinks F1 one is Formula Bore. The only overtaking you get is when one car can switch on some sort of boost that the car in front can't - wow!!! Or you get some prat waffling on how exciting it is that a pitstop has only taken 8.1 seconds - and yet some people moan about Pearson and Tatum.

If Sky didn't have EL speedway, I would cancel tomorrow.

What really irks me is that my Sky subscription has contributed to Sky getting Formula Bore at the expense of the Speedway GP

But no extra cost if you already pay for SKY Sports.

Funny I have sky sports but have had to add the entertainment extra pack to get Eurosport.

it's going to cost me less than £8 a month to upgrade my tv package to include eurosport, I think I can afford that, it's only until october anyway

It's only costing me £5.25 to get sky sports for the EL and Eurosport for the GP's!

I cancelled SS at the end of last season so when I phoned sky to add SS again I told them I wouldn't pay £21 for speedway coverage when they're only showing half of what they used to. I got SS half price for 6 months (not bad) but cancelled my HD sub to counter the new charges.

So there are ways and means of getting your speedway cheaper.

To clear things up, on Sky, strange as it may sound Eurosport has never been part of the Sky Sports package and has always been in one of the entertainment packages which is currently called Entertainment extra,.

So nobody is getting it for free, if you have it just now you subscribe to the Entertainment extra package

Can t speak for Virgin as i dont work for them.

hope this helps

Obviously I'm pleased that we'll be able to watch it and that the drawn out announcement was finally made. Looking forward to seeing what kind of job Eurosport make of the coverage.

Having said that, I am disappointed it won't be on Sky anymore. I happen to be in the pro Pearson and Tatum camp and also liked Keith Huewen. Will be strange without them but I'm sure I'll get used to it! Should be a good GP series.

Sounds as though Nigel and Kelvin will at least be covering the NZ GP!! Not sure about the others yet.

KELVIN and Nigel will not be covering the NZ GP... Steve Johnson and another Aussie, Wayne (sorry, cannot remember hjis surname) will be at Western Springs providing the world feed commentary as they did last year. Subject to Sky not objecting, Kelvin and Nigel will then take over and be at the European rounds.

It will take a little time for Eurosport to get fully up to speed and to have a studio presentation but that will not include Keith Huewen.

Virgin Media far better than Sky & customer service first class!!!

Are you kidding? Less channels, slow systems and poor customer service is my experience with Virgin Media. Sky on the other hand have more channels, a system that changes channel the instant I press the button and the customer service seems to be on a par with any other these days, so marginally better than Virgin Medias.

Dong away with the stale studio presentation entirely would be better.

I won't miss keith Heuwen for sure , never liked the bloke since his early 70's rants against Barry Sheene

I've always found Kieth Hewen to be an excellent broadcaster (going back to his supercross work in the early days of Eurosport), and like him or not he's always backed the speedway where possible. I would say the same goes for Nigel & Kelvin too.

Eurosport is an excellent platform for SGP & SWC, it'll be very interesting to see the viewing figure over the summer.

It'll also be interesting to see if the EL viewing figures are impacted with people cancelling Sky Sports now that a far cheaper alternative is available. Time will tell.........
