Speedway On Eurosport

Either way, bitching aside, I'm happy to see the GPs on TV and I'd be happy with just 1 cameraman on the centregreen with no commentators, as long as I get to see them. The fact that we have it for the next 3 years is just awesome. Many thanks and congratulations to everyone involved in getting this new contract set up :t:

1 camerman on the centre green would get very dizzy and end up falling over.

I enjoyed the meeting and Eurosport's presentation was a refreshing, straightforward change. It was just a shame the racing was a bit average.

At least he didn't get the names of the riders mixed up, or say someone who was last on first turn had made a great start.

I thought he did. A couple of times he even had to correct himself as the riders went into the second bend. Let's be fair to commentators (all of them), what sometimes looks like a great start can turn into a turkey within a couple of tenths of a second and commentators get names wrong all the time in almost every sport. . . maybe not tennis.

I thought the commentators were a breath of fresh air but maybe because that's because they were different. I found Wade enthusiastic rather than shouty and much more entertaining than the usual duo. I was laughing out loud when they were discussing Bunyan's airbag - Holy Cow!

I think my only criticism from Saturday I don't think is Eurosports graphics anyway, but the riders announcing their name in the graphics before each heat got very boring, very quickly. I think something like that is great to show with the vocal reading of the names pre meeting when listing the riders, but not during each heat.

Yes, I agree with this. For the initial introductions it was fine but very soon got on one's wick thereafter.

I for one wouldn't mind them picking up the league contract - even if it was highlights and not live

as i've said before it might even do the sport a favour cutting out the delays and so on

i think we need to prepare for life after sky

Any idea who's going to provide them with the pictures?

It was pretty rushed, sounded like R.E.M “It’s the end of the World” on karaoke before every race

Other than that, it was really good.

That is an excellent point Whereas with the GP Eurosport can just pick up a feed the Elite League is a different animal there is no feed for Eurosport to be able pick up if they took over next year as Sky do their own filming and many tracks I am almost sure are hard wired by them so they can just plug their cameras in.

CLOUD BASS provide all graphics, replay wipes, race line-ups and in-race graphics.

They also provide the scoring scoring, leaderboard and tournament graphics.

Still expect some posters to say riders were pronouncing their names wrongly and they had to turn the sound down!

Yes there are any amount of independent TV production companies who provide programming to TV broadcast companies

I accept this would be unlikely to happen - Eurosport are more likely to buy ready made Swedish or Polish programming - thats their usual modus operandi

THERE won't be any studio presence until Cardiff. It was all a bit last minute for Eurosport as well and will take them a little time to fully get their act together.

Excellent especially if that means no Ermolenko words of wisdom gobbledegook :approve:
