Rocket Dave
Going to see Rebels / Monarchs tonight at the Oaktree Areana here in Somerset, it is being shown on Sky, will that be Eurosport or Sky sports? Ticket prices reduced to £10 plus other benefits to get a good crowd. Hope it goes ahead we've had rain in the nigh and mor forecast after a number of glorious days sunshine! michaelcroucher
First time i have watched speedway on British Eurosport and i have to say not happy at all. I had to recorded the meeting on my new BT vision box, which was fine but as the meeting started late i missed the last race and also not to see the first 5 races not very good. I know events do sometimes run over and that can’t be helped but when i put the programme on it wasn’t the tennis it was WSBK then followed by car racing why didn’t they just go to the speedway instead of showing crap. I thought the commentator’s where very good especially if you are new to speedway, as Scott was explaining about the rules ie 2min etc. Apart from that good racing
iris123
Of course it wasn't the tennis.Britain always seem to want to do their own thing. The rest of Europe including Poland were watching the tennis.Once that was finished they went to the speedway. What they showed in England or Scotland in the meantime was their own decision, but i guess they couldn't show the speedway until the rest of Europe switched over and they could link into it!!! TBF, the camers were there, so why not just show the first 4 heats and let the rest of Europe link in when the tennis was done? there no logical reason they couldn't have show us the 4 heats. PHILIPRISING
I BELIEVE that those actually in the stadium had to wait an hour for the meeting to start so a bit puzzled why first five heats weren't shown anyway

michaelcroucher
i think people are getting it all wrong about why we had to wait for the Speedway. I know the tennis was on Eurosport but we get British Eurospoprt and the 2 run on different freq. Broadcasters for British Eurosport could have put the speedway on they just choose not to and wait for the tennis to finish. This is why it makes it more frustrating
rob tatum
Great coverage again from eurosport apart from the after ads bloke but hey a minor gripe. Thought tatum and pearson were going to combust during the night and there enthusiasm and sense of humour (OK IN MY OPINION) was infectious. I laughed out loud when pearson said kasprazak was riding so wide he was almost out of the stadium. Thanks eurosport keep up the great coverage. Rob ,lisa ,kieran ,tony ,mark, chris and ash the dog we love it.

Glad you enjoyed it, also glad Lisa enjoyed it, I mean the other week she flounced off into the garden with the Pimms when it was crunch time, you were the one who had to sit it out until the tennis finished, I hope she thanked you for calling her in when it started
SCB
Teh filler/catch up guy is rubbish. He can even read names off a bit of paper or off a screen. Seriously Eurosport, dump him. It's funny though, the only bit Eurosport do themselves is that filler guy and he's rubbish and people thank Eurosport for the coverage. Please, get rid of him! The BSI feed even with Stadtler and Waldorf at the track is fine. All Eurosport need to do is add a one minute catch up at the break and they come up with this muppet. 'Kasperitch' ffs! Why not go straight back to Nige & Kelv, I'd rather listen to them swooning over the previous 4 heats, than some numpty with the sentance delivery of a slug in a coma & a dyslexic one at that. Apart from that, great coverage.
PHILIPRISING
DOES appear that the guy in the studio is letting Eurosport down and no doubt it is something they will address shortly. They do, however, need to have someone in the studio when they dip in and out of the world feed provided by BSI with Kelvin and Nigel at the stadium for their own ad breaks, etc. Cannot be rocket science... It's just a case of basic homework Philip. I assume that the guy is too busy during the coverage to listen to the commentary feed but he should be reviewing each broadcast in full after the event so he learns essentials such as pronunciation and sees how his performance meshes, or in this case grates with Nigel & Kelvin. Okay, so he's probably been co-opted to work on an unfamiliar sport but I've been there myself and although it's a heck of a long time since I held a commentary mic in 'anger' when I had a sport other than speedway to cover, such as stock car racing or Dutch ice hockey the first job was to learn how to pronounce the names in the hope that would fool the viewers into believing I was sure of what I was talking about. Nothing shouts 'amateur' more than not even being able to say the names. Eurosport are great at taking feeds and adding commentary but their presentation skills are poor, and realistically very rarely called-on. A typical Eurosport programme starts with the station ident, goes straight to the live feed and commentator with rarely anyone 'back in the studio'. In fact I can't recall ever seeing a studio feed, but I certainly am not a regular viewer these days apart from Speedway. Why hadn't the guy just been listening to how the names were said in the previous segment by Nigel and kelvin. How did he manage to summarise each heat WITHOUT noticing the pronunciation. or did he think he knew better? or is he a bit subnormal? I mean. Tatum. How can you say TaTTum? Who in the world has ever been called that?
