Tsunami
Courtesy of Edinburgh Monarchs Speedway http://www.edinburgh...cle.asp?id=1307 Another big crowd enjoyed the racing last night and although there wasn't a real upset there were some decent races. Danny King won the meeting on count back (winning due to his win over home favourite Cookie in heat 11) and looked very classy all evening. Cookie didn't look out of place in this company and with the exception of one second place looked a country mile ahead of the rest. Eddie Kennett looked like an early match favourite as he rattled off 3 wins on the trot (including an awarded win after Chris Harris introduced him to the 2nd bend fence part the way through their heat 7 clash - it is a shame the race ended this way as it was brewing up into a belter) Chris Harris had looked very good in his first one with an excellent trap but thereafter had to generally battle his way through the field in his races due to poor gating. Although this was much to the liking of the crowd as his pacy bursts into the turns really were a sight to behold. Other notable performances - Richie Worrall - I'm always impressed when I see this chap race, only defeated by the three main EL boys and Cookie and Robson. Robson looked solid. The Glasgow pairing of Wright and Grieves providing some decent racing also with the latter a little unlucky not to score one or two more. I'd also like to mention that Kyle Howarth also looks like he might enjoy being in this company in the not too distant future as he scored 6 from the 3 races he finished. Good to spend some time with George.m, I hope to see you back at the Dale soon. We'll get you up to the 3/4 turn next time.... it's ok you'll be safe ;-) Glad it was a good night, especially with both our big boys qualifying. Funny when you say 'get you up to the 3rd/4th turn'. Going to take a little while to remember it is the old 1st/2nd. Was the electric failure something to do with the change over. Presume they didn't have to ring Australia this time. Thoroughly enjoyed last night's meeting and the company The star of the show for me was the Armadale track. The first and second bend alterations are a huge improvement and without doubt are producing better racing. I used to dread watching any newbie Tigers riding it in the past in fear of injury. That's gone now. A smooth surface too last night. No one in the field looked out their depth last night and I'm sure the track played a part in that. The Kennett/Harris race was brewing up for a real cracker and as Scotland1314 says, a real pity it didn't finish. Danny King really was class and has to be a future invite for the Scottish Open, in that form I could watch him very week. Craig Cook really looked the part and showed great determination and professionalism. Final ride against Harris he was out gardening at the tapes during the stoppage. If there is still such a thing as transfer fees, he will bring in a future securing wedge for the Monarchs. From a Tigers perspective a lot to be happy with. If James Grieves sees out the season in his current determined fashion there'll be a Tigers campaign to get him to reconsider his pre-mature retirement. James Wright is showing signs of improved confidence, on his day he looks a really classy rider. He could be the signing of the season if things work out! Good luck to him. Charles Wright wasn't out his depth .... dare I say what I'm really thinking? I'm really enjoying my speedway this season and falling back in love with the sport after last year's doldrums .... Thanks to the two Scottish promotions and all the riders for making this happen! PS Scotland1314, the cynic in me thinks I'll need my air suit and helmet for that 3/4 bend initiation! Hopefully it is really pleasing for the promotion that their efforts are being rewarded with good crowds, so far. To be honest I've no idea if the failure was as a result of the change. I was just happy to see the problem getting resolved.

Young51
Agree with everyone that it was a really good nights racing, and despite the leccy gremlims and the green flag starts, the meeting was a great advert for the sport Dare i say that Scottish ref Wullie Dishwasher is a better flag dropper than he is an actual referee.. The track was superbly prepared by the Doc,and here's hoping the weather is kind to us so we get more of the same this season Personally, apart from Craig Cook and Richie Worrell doing the Premier league proud,it was a pleasure watching the EL big guns attacking the track (Eddie Kennett's round the boards efforts in on one race was breathtaking). All in all i think we deserve to have meeting like this allocated to us again..well done to all! edmon
Won't happen again. George Taylor being flown in from Adelaide. Arrives tomorrow! Could have happened no matter who the electrician was. Problem is more than likely having to use old wiring from last time the starting gate was on west of stadium.
