seanmuffe
http://www.basingsto...ews/10176486._/ Apologies if this has been put somewhere else. 14 stagings would restict to National League no doubt. Any new venue would be welcome, suspect pie in sky though has planning so you never know. With Reading nearby and Oxford not that far away plus their futures being more uncertain it might have potential. At least the sport is getting a mention.

berniev123
Hope this comes off sooner rather than later, we could do with another team in the NL.
Grachan
They could even possibly get away with calling them Reading Racers? It's only about 10 miles out of Reading after all.

Yes, the riders may have that "Ready Break" orange glow around them from the atomic atmosphere. Tsunami
Thanks for the responses. The reason I asked was from a noise point of view, and whether there was still planes flying in and out of the airport.
Grachan
Thanks for the responses. The reason I asked was from a noise point of view, and whether there was still planes flying in and out of the airport. Not any more. It's been reverted to common ground now for several years.
ch958
"He said the council would not support an increase in the number of events per year from the current 14." Does this not include current banger use which would actually render it unavailable - thats how i read it anyway - be a good nl venue though for sure
Fourentee
Does this not include current banger use which would actually render it unavailable - thats how i read it anyway - be a good nl venue though for sure FWIW I read it the other way round -- that the speedway would replace banger racing, running weekday evenings rather than Sunday, but to the current maximum of 14 fixtures. But clearly very early days in any event.
Nikko
Looks promising and very sensible to start communication with the council early....

OGT
I'm sure that someone from Birmingham could help any prospective promotion with noise readings/advice.
Blazeaway
If they already have permission for Motor Sports why would they need to reapply? I'm sure when Wimbledon reopened they didn't need planning permission as they were already running stock cars there.
JCookie
I wish they'd start putting speedway in desirable locations for those of us with some style and panache
